Satja enters the Gymnasium with a look of utter wonder on her face. She always does. The gym is a fantastic marvel of modern health technology. The sensor that criss-cross the walls and the array of advanced workout stations had always fascinated her, though she had not clue how they worked, only that they made the soul feel clean, and the body sore but always in a pleasant manner.
"Come on then" She says merrily, almost forgetting who she is talking to. "If you please Master."
Behind her Kador shakes his head, a slight frown appearing on his face. Though he is distracted by the sound of the Necom vibrating from the folds of his doublet.
They cross the gym, circumnavigating the marked out running track, Satja inspecting an incredibly muscular woman as she runs past, at and super human pace, a bored look on her face.
Immortals, she half curses under her breath, taking all that for granted.
They pass by a number of new machines, the Matari woman running her hand a long the last in the line wistfully, on their way to the steel case lockers against the far wall. Carefully she extracts the clothing from the locker and makes for the womens changing rooms.
She is not surprised to she Kador simply shrugging out of the doublet and into a loose fitting rough spun brown tunic. She could always admire her masters physique. The Theological Council had done a fantastic job of eating away at the bodies weakness. Like most immortals, more so the Templars she knew or had seen in the aid stations, his was a hard body, sheathes of muscle, oddly hairless, though she was not sure if that was by choice or physiology.
Either way despite this more rational outlook she hurried away with warm cheeks and returned some minutes later, changed into a close fitting, dark track top, and shorts. In a way she supposed she looked far more gangly than most of the women here. Long frame, lean muscle, and not much, she lamented, womanly charm.
She beckoned for the Templar to follow, he had already finished the half ritualised calisthenics and was bouncing up and down on the balls of his feet.
Good, He is learning.
The pair approach one console, the far corner of the room. Satja taps the touch screen half a dozen times and the floor raises slightly into a small Caldari sparring ring, similarly white tatami mats appear from the floor, and a series of racks with half a dozen short practice blades rise up to hover artistically at the rings boundaries.
The pair ignore it, remove their shoes, and take familiar stances facing one another.
"You ready this time" She asks in a mocking voice, flipping the hair back from her shoulder, already painfully aware of one of the other visitors staring at the extensive scarring down her should and back.
"Not bloody likely" He grunts back, and lunges at her. |

He could see he had already made a mistake.
His lunge was well executed yes, but poorly timed. Almost immediately after his body moved his mind caught up instantly flooding his entire system with a bitter cocktail of regret and disgust.
In hindsight the next few minutes were simply a blur of pain and exertion, a combination which in his minds eye he knew would not allow him to attempt this fool move again.
In two quick steps he covered the ground between them swinging ham-fistedly at the Matari womans head.
End it quickly, he thought instinctively, end it before she can get moving.
But Satja was moving, shifting her weight across the balls of her feet. She danced dextrously back, falling from her boxers honour stance into a twirl. The next instance the outer part of her fist hammered into the side of his face, with and loud cracking sound, causing him to stagger back a couple of paces, his vision clouded by a red pain.
He wanted desperately to have time to recover but another barrage of blows assaulted him in quick succession. Twin kicks aimed at his gut, the first he rolled into, taking the impact on his should, extraction a sharp cry of pain from Satja, the other slipped beow his guard, hammering the knee and driving him to the floor.
He rolled to the left avoiding what could only have been a finishing blow, a rough heel kick.
With whatever haste and strength he could muster ge pushed himself to his feet. He took half a moment of focus himself, a single good breathe was all it took to calm the shaking muscles, and dull the jolts of pain running up his leg.
He lauched into one of the forms he only partly remembered from Iesa, a viscous kick, that she blocked with ease, a second kick, equally as easy to block, a third kick... and she stumbled back a step.
Without even bothering to finish the movement he threw a brutal jab that managed to slip past her guard. The blow stuck her sternum driving the wind out of her.
Despite himself her could help but notice where he had struck her, not one of his more noble actions, but the blow had put him on ever ground for the first time.
He pressed the attack, more rapid strikes, not committing more than a couple of strikes on one of her guards.
However unbeknownst to him the matari woman had long since figured him out. Mildly embarrassed by the blow ti her pride... and her chest she had hatched a brutal plan.
As he laid another two jabs at her exposed right side, she stepped into him, placing her back again his chest, ramming a bony elbow into his lower torso, winding him, then side stepping out of his reach as he made to grab her. She gritted her teeth grunting as his fist caught her across the jaw, loosening her teeth. Using the weight of his movement, she rammed her knee into the back of his, wrapped her thin arms around his extended arms, taking his weight onto his shoulder, casting him to the floor.
Otherwise an impossible feat for her, he briefly considered mid flight, before crashing onto his back, pain wracking his nerves.
A final blow hammered his chest, once again driving this win from his lungs and spittle from his mouth. He lay their sucking in great breath of air down a raw throat, twitching as spasms of pain jumped from quickly rising, purplish bruises.
"Argh " was all he could muster between pained breaths.
Across from him still standing, hands on knees, grinning triumphantly, Satja began to laugh, clear notes, around the gymnasium. Awkwardly she reached for her chest, wincing at the bruise rapidly appearing. She flushed a bright red but held her self in a dignified pose, then began to brush her hair over her right shoulder again.
Still winded, and unable to move Kador could only watch helpessly in pain, as Maximia approached from across the floor.
He waved, tried to to put on a welcoming smile, but it was crooked and half hearted in his current state.
"Hail Maximia" he mustered from the floor".... I missed you in the ....ugh.... Diner...and at the offices."
Behind him Satja watched the tall woman approaching sceptically.

She grins victoriously and claps at the good fight.

Vyzion jogs. And jogs. And jogs.
The large immortal woman on the running track lapped him once again. He briefly glances at the brawlers. He saw that look that Matari lady gave the sprinter who had already lapped him again. Vyzion contemplated the mix of jealously, annoyance and dismissal that she had briefly displayed in that instant. A half-forgotten tale he heard somewhere, a long time ago, returned to him. The story of an immortal who, when questioned as to what she wanted, answered with "I want to die."
Vyzion blinked, shaking himself from the reverie. Don't think about that or you'll fly erratically, he chided himself silently, dragging his thoughts back their original topic of consideration.
I lost another dropship... Even as he thought it, Vyzion's insides coiled tighter and his heart beat faster, and almost subconsciously his pace started increasing. Why had he been destroyed? What had caused that forge gun to manage to clip his left thruster? The air rushing into the cockpit through the broken nose of the dropship as it went into an uncontrollable dive... the desperate attempt to save the craft... he barely noticed he was closing the distance between him and the other immortal on the running track.
Wait, that was it. Speed. Vyzion slowed back to a jog, breathing deeper. He closed his eyes, letting his augmented senses guide him along the track. Between a forge gunner and a dropship, the forge projectile always won in terms of speed. There was no escaping it simply by rushing towards the closest area of safety.
What the forge gunner doesn't have, however, is maneuverability, something a dropship pilot has in abundance.
I wonder... if a backflip would be enough? Just need to make sure I don't eat too much beforehand... Grinning now, the mercenary continued jogging at his leisurely pace. He whipped out a book on the mountain ranges and the high reaches of New Eden and began to read as he jogged. Hope nobody thinks this is showing off.

This is bullshit, she gripes silently, I get the clone with none of the advantages. I don't think I've ever seen Galm work out! The luck bastard doesn't have to! All he does is crash on the futon and watch videos on the net. I bet he was fat before he became a soldier.
The thought of a younger, pudgier Galm makes her laugh out loud while she tries to work through the pain. Her workout plan was simple; light cardio followed by some simple shadow boxing. She rolls her shoulders and stretches out her quads, getting ready for another run around the track. As she does, Vyzion rips past her like it was nothi-- Wait, was he reading a book? Seriously?
What the hell are we doing here girl?, she wonders to herself.
She adjusts her earphones and whips her hair to the side as she beings to psych herself up just as a new 'Kaijuya' song begins blasting its opening rift.

Finishing the chapter on various locations that would be beautiful to fly through (complete with pictures), Vyzion closed his book and slowed his pace down to a walk, then strolled off the track. Can't build too much muscle. My poor Prometheus already struggles under the weight of all those damned armour plates our armoured division stacks on their suits.
Vyzion headed over to a bag he left against a floor-to-ceiling mirror and threw his book in, glancing at his reflection briefly. Skinny. Someone once called him a slaver that had just eaten. Besides that physical appearance mattered little to him. As long as he could fit himself in those rumoured pilot suits that are apparently being developed to remove the unnecessary weight that even the standard light frames brought to the dropship, he didn't mind.
Zipping up his bag, he strolled into a room designated for "Reflexes".
Inside was a dimly lit, white room, and when he closed the door behind him all sounds outside ceased; soundproofed. It was small, the size of a typical mercenary's quarters. The walls were dotted with holes roughly the size of his fist. Vyzion spotted a green button in the center of the far wall. Below it was a message:
Press green button to initiate training. To end, press again. If unable to move, clearly say "Terminate".
The third line troubled Vyzion, but surely it couldn't be that bad... So he hit the green button.
Whump! Vyzion whirled, but nothing was there. Heart racing, he reached towards the green button. Maybe I should've asked before I came i-
Whu-whump! This time he saw it. Two balls shot out of two of the holes in the walls, only to reenter the system on the other side of the room at a receiving hole.
Intrigued, Vyzion watched for a moment. There was no discernable pattern to where the balls would fire from, or what their trajectory would be. Even their speeds varied, but they always ended up in another hole. Unless... He cautiously walked to the center of the room, and once there, began to turn slowly.
Whu-"Gotcha!" Grasped in his hand was a ball a little smaller than the average Locus grenade, made from some form of rubbery substance. "Hah, this ain't so-"
THWUMP! Multiple balls were ejected in quick succession, filling the room with projectiles. All of them reentered holes but one. This one smacked into Vyzion's face, causing him to instinctively crouch.
Blinking away the tears, he stood up. I think I get it. And so he did. Breathe in... dodge. He swayed, and a ball zipped past his left arm. Breathe out... duck. Another ball ruffled his dark brown hair. Breath in.... "OW! What the h-"
Balls were zooming around the room, one shooting out as soon as another 'docked'. Vyzion jumped, pirouetted, kicked off walls, dropped flat on the floor, performing physical manipulations that would've not been amiss in the bed of a Gallentean brothel.
"What... the... bloody... hell," Vyzion grunted, each word punctuated by a whump. "This. Isn't. Reflexes. It's. Bloody. MURDER!"
The balls started firing faster. Swallowing his pride, Vyzion tried to dive for the button. But as if the room had a malicious life of its own, balls started firing rapidly from that wall, preventing him from reaching his goal. Vyzion tried to brute force his way through the barrage, making progress... until he slipped on one of the balls that had hit him previously. Cursing furiously, he turned and pressed his face into the floor and crawled towards the button, taking dozens of hits against his back and shoulderblades. Surely it can't get any worse than this.
But like all who dare tempt fate by intoning such words of folly, he was wrong. The floor hissed, and holes opened up all over it, sucking up balls that had hit him. An intensified rain on his back indicated the ceiling had modified itself similarly.
Gritting his teeth, Vyzion gave up. "Terminate," he muttered. The battering didn't stop.
"Terminate." Louder, but still the balls rained down on him.
"Terminate. Terminate. Terminate!" Undaunted, the balls simply got faster, and Vyzion couldn't even rise against the pressure the combined force dozens of the balls were applying on his back.
Clenching his fists, Vyzion cleared his throat and yelled: "GOD-*expletive redacted*-DAMNIT WHAT PART OF TERMINATE DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND!"
The pummelling ceased. Vyzion got up after a minute, looked at the glowing green button with absolute disgust, and walked out, trying to disguise his limp with a swagger. Luckily he hadn't taken much damage to his face; hopefully no one would realise what happened. He only hoped no Amarrians heard his last, aggrevated cry.

He immediately walks over to the nearest unoccupied station and steps in and hangs his coat and shirt on a convenient hook.
stepping in he makes note of the pristine condition of the simulator, walls laden with sensors and output monitors with a large emergency button. Settling in, he activates the software and it springs to life.
"Hello new user, welcome to the fight of your life!" "Hi, maximum feedback authorized" "user, this is dangerous, potentially life threatening, are you absolutely sure you would like to continue? agreeing frees the owner, manufacturer, and original patent holders from litigation from yourself, loved ones, family, friends and pets." "Agreed" "agreement accepted, Mode selection?" "Lets start simple. 10 man single combat line, difficulty: setting normal, Stage setting: Cleanroom, Opponent selection: random" "Understood. The simulation begins, it's a sterile white area, with seemingly no boundries. A man in a caldari made suit stands before him.
"3.2.1! Simulation Begin!" flashes the output monitor. |

Hitting the ground in a roll He rushes and tackles the AI around the midsection, immediately lifting it into a backwards slam to the floor.

She shifts back to Kador and pleasantly smiles, he crosses his arms and looks at him. "Happens." True Adamance wrote:
"As for the nature of my business....I had assumed you and Demel were arms dealers but now I know you are designers....well it must be the providence of God. I need a new HAV design drawn up. Light hull, good traction, torque, and mobility. I'll also need a full sensor suite somewhere on board. I need to move fast, hit hard, and be able to get in and out of enemy lines rapidly... Is this something you two could do?"
Maximia looks downwards and takes note of his requests mentally and looks up at Kador once again. "Demel designed a couple tanks back in the day, I'll run it through him but it shouldn't be too much trouble," She says with a small nod to him, "It's best if you talk to Demel though, I just do finance and coordination. You'll have to be put on a waiting list though, we have another customer with a commission. Shouldn't be too long though." Niina's ears perk up despite her music drowning out most nearby conversations. Her selective listening began to kick in as soon as she noticed a clone mouthing the word "arms dealers" to another soldier. She rips out her earphones and pretends to focus her attention on the amount of curl ups she is performing. She catches the tail end of their conversation and prepares to make a buyer of the Templar.
"Y'know," she calls from a few meters away, "Eskola SVK can design that weapon for you quickly and to your specifications. No waiting lists, minimal paperwork..."
She does a few more revs, trying to mask her interest.
"Best of all, our parts aren't tracked. We may not have the capacity to produce big guns without the State taking notice, but hey, that will cut down on weight and power output anyway. I'm thinking... Jove-tech cores for increased torque, fusion accelerators, and heavy active shield boosting? We could fit them with active scanners and drop it all into a Caldari frame. With the canon removed we could outfit the hull with prototype versions of any kind of small turret you see fit."

Galm saunters into the room, holding a data pad in one hand whilst twirling a stylus in the other. His lazily buttoned uniform and offset cap make it apparent he's been a bit too busy rushing around the station to keep his outfit squared away. He doesn't take his eyes off the data pad as he navigates around different weight machines and exercising clones.
"Yo Niina, if you have a moment I was just about t--"
He looks up for a moment, only to see Kador surrounded by the three women all biding for his attention. Galm's eyes flicker for a moment as he freezes in place.

F***ing Templars.

The scene unfolding before her is almost comical, the stupefied look on Kador's face at Galm's appearance is almost instantly replaced first with confusion, then fear, then plain defiance. She can tell this because for half a second he risks a quick concerned glance back at her.
Amidst the chaos she notes that the pretty woman from the halls was to one to have spoken, interrupting that loathesome Maximia woman dead in her tracks.
Serves her right, she thought bitterly.
She glances at Galm, oddly noting that this was the first time she had ever met the man, but not the first time she had been told about him.
He is a man of middling height, shorter than Kador, from her place she could not tell if he was as stocky or powerfully built as her Master, but the man belied a calm and reserved air, which was only momentarily offset by a vicious flash in Galm's eyes.
Augmented, was her first thought, not a normal colour, not normal eyes....
There was no mistaking it though, that look in the eyes. Galm was a natural fighter, brawler, killer, call him what you would, something that you could not learn was present in the man, and this worried her.
If Kador starts a fight, it wont end well. She though this not out of malice or cruelty to her master, though she did feel as though she had betrayed him somewhat, but the facts were what they were. The Templar was good....but not that good.
However before Kador has the opportunity to speak, a thought occurred to her.
With a surprising confidence she managed to address the pretty Caldari woman and the loathsome Maxmia woman.
"You said you dealt in arms? We need that.... don't we Kador....? It only makes sense to have Demel and Maximia design the tank. Its almost perfect. We could have.... uh...." She stumbled some what unsure of the woman's name, very embarrassed that as Kador's servant she did not show the proper respects. She was well aware that she was of the lowest rank amongst the group..... "whatshername build it for us."
All she got out of Kador was a rough grunt of acknowledgement, but it was a start....and a better one than she had hoped. |

Galm never takes his eyes of Kador, staring daggers at the man as he pondered a multitude of ways he could systematically remove every bone in the man's body from their joints. Galm might not have been as tall or sturdy as Kador, but he had been fighting since he was a child. He'd easily taken down targets twice his size in hand-to-hand combat before, and Kador was nothing special.
Niina's glance calms him down a bit, but only slightly... He always hated that look.
"Right... Niina," he starts after Satja had finished speaking, "I was just going let you know that those shipments we were talking about finally came in. I wanted to make sure you had a buyer lined up. We can only hold on to cargo for so long before it becomes a hazard."
His eyes bounce between everyone in the room quickly before returning to Niina.
"If you have an arms deal going on, we should talk about this in a proper business setting later. We can meet in the Temple of the Three Ways and I can show the Templar into our offices whenever he has the time... Probably after you have those designs drawn up."
Galm fixes his cap and turns back to Satja.
"Moitte, orja arvumaa."
He gives a disinterested look at Kador before turning around and setting out the door, muttering to himself in Intaki.
In the moment when I truly understand my enemy, understand him well enough to defeat him, then I also love him.

Satja's sigh was almost palpable, and relief washed over him as Galm turned to leave.
God save me that was a close one, was his first and only though.
He glanced back at the woman, a thin smile played across her features in a very self satisfied manner. He couldn't help but feel betrayed, he knew she had meant no disrespect to him by intervening, but the slumped shoulders, downcast eyes, and dismissing flick of her hair told him she didn't think he stood a chance.
His own shoulders slumped, and he began to relax, one breath at a time, until his heart rate steadied and his hands stopped shaking.
To Maximia he said.
"My apologies....things got a little....tense back there. I hope however we can conclude business as we had planned, though I hope you don't hold it against me if we contract outside of your company in the construction of the prototype."
He glanced over to Niina, he supposed that was her name. Galm had addressed her as such.
"Niina....-haan" he said grasping at the vague memories of the Caldari suffixes. " I suppose its rather pointless to ask this but.... I assume Fae does not like me much....what's his deal? I have done you no wrong."

"Haani," Niina corrects politely.
She glances at where Galm stood several seconds ago, looking saddened. Whether it was at his loss or at his behavior was yet to be seen.
"Please, don't take his behavior personally. He's very protective of me, but he never used to be the jealous type until after I... Well, after I fell ill. He must have spent every coin he could get his hands on to pay keep me healthy, and after I finally agreed to the installation of my implant he carried me through the transition period. I think...."
Niina bites her lower lip.
"I think he isn't ready to let me walk on my own again. He's worried that once I do things will go back to how they were before."
She looks back at Kador.
"It doesn't help that he's got something against you Amarr. Something happened to him back before I met him when he was working with the Seituoda Taskforce Command. It must have been pretty bad, because he says all of his 'issues' were never a problem until he was deployed to stomp some slave revolt in the Kor-Azor region. Amarr hiring a unit of immortal Caldari Commandos... Makes you wonder what they must have needed them for."
