Is everyone else happy with it?
I'd prefer if it was a bonus to biotics, or even CQC weapons (This means Nova Knives are included) rather than one specific weapon I'll probably never use competitively.

Scouts should be avoiding combat, not seeking it. The Minmatar Logistics bonus of +5% hacking speed per level would make a lot more sense on the Minmatar Scout, since he'd be able to quickly sneak behind enemy lines and then quickly hack all their assets and GTFO.

Maken likes it.
I think it should remain and another bonus added as well. |

Only thing is we have been styled as the assassin so we are supposed to seek combat, even if its brief and hopefully on our terms.
On the OP - I used knives for a bit but after aim assist and scanning were brought to the fore I just decided to stay out of that range. I am not super skilled like the beastly NK scouts. Also I read those threads where Gal Scouts were breaking down how the bonus wasnt that much in actual gameplay if they could make their scout faster with more stamina.
The truth is I would much prefer a straight up damage bonus to any weapon for damage dealt from behind. Others could be silenced weaponry (though I dont know how that would be implemented or scaled over Lv 1 - 5) or a higher dampening bonus.
Is the bonus for Melee damage even that significant given the suits base with respect to the other frames? |

That's kind of a waste of a bonus when there's already a passive and modules that do it. A fitting/efficacy bonus to biotics and electronics modules to all scout suits would go a long way. Extra equipment slot too.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

There's already a passive and module for the scouts overall profile dampening. It's not a waste of a bonus, it just makes it that much better.

Keep the knife bonus, an ditch the melee bonus for a slot. Either equipment for a scanner an r/e or for a low so wee can run two complex reds an a complex hack.
I'd rather have one bonus an a slot than two bonuses. Melee bonus is insignificant considering our melee damage sucks. Now if our base melee was 200 plus the 25% suit bonus plus some h2h mod bonuses then sure. |

The melee bonus is a little pointless in my opinion. If knives worked better then I'd be all for it. Trying to use knives more often but having to catch people not moving kind of sucks.

By the way, how do you Minmatar scouts not rage so hard? Not only is your racial bonus pretty "meh," but you only get 2 lows at proto. With two lows, you can choose any of the two following:
-Passive armor repair -Avoiding prototype scanners -Improving your passive scan range from 24m to 34.8m (Uprising 1.6) -Double your stamina to get to where you need to be -Increase your sprint speed to escape bad situations
All the good Scout stuff is fitted on low slots

Personally, I like the knife damage bonus, as some of you solo objective hackers know Perhaps, though, an increase to walking speed, sprinting speed, stamina, and stamina regeneration would be welcome. On the other hand, yes, the melee bonus sucks.
Hard.
I think the "backstab" bonus damage would be a good idea, though.

You forgot the fact that we have less eHP and PG/CPU than even Gallente Scouts... BUT! Scout is hard mode, and that's the way we like it!

That's only half true. Scouts should avoid direct head-on combat at all costs. However, a scout would be a fool to not take advantage of the element of surprise especially when picking off lone stragglers.
CCP, please fix the Nova Knives. Thank you.

Also: lore wise the minmatar scout is trained to be supreme in hand to hand combat and blade work so removal would be very very bad.

I love knova knives I hope the bonus stays, I speced into this scout suit just for this reason, and whoever say's scouts shouldn't seek combat wtf/e have you tried reading the suits description? Min scout description clearly says its almost unmatched in (hand to hand) combat, and i'm pretty sure I cant have that from 100m away, min scout and knives compliment ea other kind of like amarr and scr's.
And if you really want to do some serious killing with knives this is the suit to use, unfortunately atm there's a good chance your gonna die more times than not, scouts need more speed or hp or both. And for all you fellow scouts out there, think smart, flank often, run swiftly, kill quickly, and may the scout god's watch over you. |

Enough to make the knife bonus really worth it?
From my limited experience scouting, I've found sneaking up on at most two people out in the open is fine, but if there's more of them in a group then avoid. Also you have to be very knowledgeable of the spawn locations. Even if you see one guy by his lonesome, if he's standing next to a spawn location then I let him live.
