Have i read it correctly?
CCP: were buffing repper tools LOGIBRO'S: Yay good job CCP. Can we see who we are repping now? CCP: ummmmmmmm nope not according to the patch notes
So 1. Will they edit the patch notes.
2. leave it as it is and people will run the reppers for a few matches then stop again, making the work they have done useless

I thought they said the visible health bar fix was 1.7 (though I could be wrong) - the patch notes that just came out are for 1.6. |

This is correct. You can check the weekly feedback for the actual quote.
@OP:
Trust me, as a logi, I've made so many posts about what's wrong with the repair tool and such...got a ton of support from the community, but CCP doesn't see it as the big issue that it really is.
So yeah, while this and the heavy changes will definitely help us in the long run, I'm still not going to be running the repair tool until 1.7.

Precisely my point.. There is no point in adjusting this unless we can see what the hell were doing.
Way to go CCP, how's about we get the friggin sight fixed first.
So is this the new way forward CCP rouge? Let's bring out even less releases on the monthly updates which aren't even monthly and let's not allow proper testing of these updates as we can't see what we're doing
Are we able to get the friggin sight in 1.6?
Looks like option 2 is right as per friggin usual |

I think 1.6 was already content locked before they could get the fix out in 1.7
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

Regardless of whether we have visible health bars, just hug your heavy and everything will be okay.

I rep until I can be sure. If you're not sure use a Core Focused. You can always rely on that. All hail the Core Focused Rep Tool. Still having the extra reps now makes it better. What I would really like is if Logistics suits, or all suits if you want to be picky, can get a HUD displaying squad's health.
Every now and then I read a comment on the internet and then I realise something very important...

CCP probably noticed a decline in rep tool users after 1.4 hit.
Then they figured the best way to reverse that would be to buff the repair tool, making the post-1.6 militia/basic tools heal nearly as much as our current proto tools.
Not, you know, fixing the missing health bars, which turned off many logis (including myself) from consistently running a repper.
When 1.7 hits and more people start using reppers again, I fear that armor tanking will finally trump shield tanking in Dust. No shield tanker can go toe to toe with an armor tanker if he has even a basic post-1.6 rep tool on him, much less a proto one - Lai Dai flux, 70 hp/sec on two targets from 30m away? Core focused, 210 HP/sec on one target from 10m away? Six Kin Triage, 88 HP/sec on two targets from 21m away? Not to mention that with dedicated logis with proto reps, all highs can be devoted to damage mods...
Edit: I have proto reppers (all equipment to proto, in fact) so I will benefit from this, but as a shield tanker, it will hurt me more in the end I'm sure. |

1.6 is a prep patch for all things 1.7 so yeah.
1.6 rep tool rule #1: Pick a fatty and stick to em like glue with your tool. 1.6 fatties are going to be all Rambo with the new buff they are getting.

I wondering if core rep tools are included in this buff. At a current 121hp/s of reps, ain't nobody got time to die...

Are points earned (when it works) on a 'per hp repaired' basis these days, rather than a time scale like they used to be ?
I remember it was a problem being time based since you got more points for using the lower tier tools. If that was still the case there'd be a reduced point gain from this repair tool buff. Not that we're too restricted on point streams these days, but just my thoughts on the matter. |
