i have my skills MAXED in reppers for my armour and i only get about 6 hp/s. sheilds get like 20 hp/s passive rep with no skills in it at all. does anyone else think this is unfair? i know armour has more hp but sheild has no penalty and reps insanely fast. imagine what sheilds are like with rep skills maxed on it? really CCP, 6hp/s for max?
what do you think would be more balanced? i know sheild is mainly used for scouts so you can fit dampeners but i still want opinions. |

Shield enhancers also take the place of highs, which means a loss of damage modifiers.
Armor is your life. When it's gone, you're dead. Shields? Just a scratch. You'll be fine. Passive armor repping is long-term more beneficial for those that don't stay engaged for long. |

You can get it above 10. Complex can rep up 12.5 with skills maxed, and add that to Minmitar's Logistic maxed, that's 17.5. For each Complex Armor Repairer. |

Nah. Armor tanking is more about survivability in the fire-fight with recovery being focused on team work. Only reason shield tanking still trumps armor tanking more times than not is because there's no acceleration on strafing - you're either moving at top speed or your not so the better players normally circle strafe you to death, causing the hit box to shift all around like crazy and make them harder to hit.
Armor's working as intended, movement? Not so much. When the dude's legs are clipping through one another you know there's a problem.

Whacha smokin?
Complex Rep is 5 hp/s, which is 6.25 hp/s with max skills. Exactly half of what you said.

More than likely true. Going off of memory for something I haven't used since beta is unreliable. So, 11.25 on the Minmitar's logistic when maxed.
Added note: Though, it's rather odd that it doesn't follow the "complex trend". |

Think of it this way you get in a fire fight they chew off your shields and into your armor, your armor will start repping as soon as you lose some but your shields will not rep until like 5+ seconds beings out of the fire fight as for armor is constant reps.

Shields have the recharge delay that is enormous on heavies. That delay is reset every time you take more damage. Meaning that a shield heavy under minor sustained fire will have little to no health recovery. A rep-tanked heavy on the other hand, will have close to a repair tool's worth of hp regen with no recovery delay and enough base armour to survive the average encounter intact.
In short; the smaller the suit, the better the shields. |

shields have a delay before they kick in. yours work all the time. If your a heavy try running more complex reps instead of using plates and have your armor/shield upgrades maxed,, that would really help especially with the health buff heavies are getting.

The theory behind it is that you get more durability up-front in exchange for a longer downtime between engagements. It's a difference in play-style. They're not meant to be equivalent.
I don't have much problem with the reppers at present unless I'm beset by a constant string of enemies that give me no time to recover. To me, that's working as intended.
I would like to see the rep amount scale to the armor of the suit a little better, since it can mean a ridiculous amount of downtime between engagements for a proto Sentinel. But that's the value of a logibro anyway: remote reps during a fight can help but aren't as good as another gun, while remote reps between fights are much more effective than passive reps. |

Feel like sharing your math here? All logis get a 5HP/sec rep at logistics 5 and the Minmatar logi has no other bonus to armor repping. |

Did you both, like, just read one post and ignore everything after and just go "omg igt 2 repond 2 dat" or something? At least read everything in a thread before posting.
I was using the Minmitar's logistic as an example, but if you really want to max out in armor rep, you'll go Amarr.
The Complex Armor Repairer does 5 base and requires Armor Repair Systems at 5, which is a 25% bonus to that 5. That's 1.25. So, at base with one Complex Armor Repairer, you have 6.25. Max logistic for non-Amarr, you get 11.25. The Amarr get a 25% bonus on top of their 5. I'm pretty tired right now, so this next part may be wrong. A total of 13.50, isn't it?

I did not ignore your other post but you made the claim that for each complex rep you will get 17hp/sec this is wrong. On my proto amarr logi with no reps I get 5hp/sec armor repping. With 1 rep it is 12.81 hp/sec total armor repping. With 2 reps it is 20.62 hp/sec, with 3 it is 28.44, with 4 it is 36.25.
If you are going to give an example you should at least make sure it is correct. |

Shorter TTK since 1.4 ruined both armor and shield tanking. This is why everyone just runs around with a huge buffer. The smart ones might use reppers, rechargers/energizers, or regulators, but those don't help you between fights when a militia AR can kill you as fast as a Duvolle used to.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"
