While you could say it's just a layering of various materials, that's oversimplifying it in the extreme. 2. It was not grown out of. Also, yes, the Minmatar specialize in it. Which is why their projectile tech is even more lethal. 3. Minmatar have excellent shield tech, they just don't rely on it as much as the Caldari do. Humanity is the personification of change.
