Don't we all love sitting at a supply depot spamming nades at a group of enemies? or sitting on a nanohive spamming av's at a helpless tank?
But i bet we hate being on the receiving end. Not being able to move because theres nades flying in every 3 seconds. Having to worry about spammed nades is annoying.
As a heavy and a tanker i can say that nades of both Locus and Anti vehicle are much too easily spammed. I have a few suggestions on how to make them balanced.
Simple options
limit nades to just 2 at a time
nano hives no longer give nades
supply depots no longer give nades
I'm not a big fan of those options but they are options. They would cause a lot of uproar in the community but would fix the problem slightly.
Advanced options
Slow down the rate supply depots and nano hives give nades.
give nades higher pg and cpu requirements so that not as many people can run them without gimping themselves somewhere else.
Again those are options there not the ones i would take which i am about to show. But they are options.
N1cks own solution to the problem (Will be edited if i see good suggestions in the comments)
Grenades now cost a lot more nanites to refill effectively cutting how many nades you can get from a nanohive by 50% then the nanohive blows up. (Include all levels of nanohives)
Supply depots will only supply 3 then go on a 30 second cooldown for that person, meaning that grenades can not be captured by standing close, however switching suits will restock it.
Slightly increase fuse time as to allow for more skilled players to do good by cooking a nade instead of just lobbing then spamming more.
Add more in if you have any suggestions! |

This again? Just when I thought people would stop complaining about grenades.
Grenades are fine. spamming them is just like spamming a mass driver. |

Grenades are fine. spamming them is just like spamming a mass driver. a mass driver is a primary weapon, where as a grenade has it's own slot.
Mass drivers i'm fine with. Grenades just take little skill to spam |

Spamming cores is no where near someone firing a mass driver.
If you honestly think that you should probably check the damage output on both of these then get back to us. |

Since I like Eon ill give some feedback. The 30 second cooldown on supply depots is a pretty good idea IF it was needed. I rarely use grenades nor do I feel they need to be nerfed/buffed/reworked.
Altho out of the ideas you listed, and CCP decided to pick one. I would settle with the one I stated above.

This is a good idea but i'd go another route. Make them have to be equipped to use them just like equipment. This is supposed to be a tactical shooter. Going from autofire on a two handed weapon to tossing a grenade in a split-second?
don't see it. |

A) Have you stood on an advanced nanohive and seen how many grenades you can throw before it pops?
B) Have you stood on an advanced nanohive and seen how many magazines' worth of ammo you can shoot before it pops?
Try A and you will find your answer within a minute.
Try B and the match will end before you find your answer.
It's grenades that cause nanohives to pop quickly for you and for multiple people, not weapon ammunition. Making them require even MORE clusters to replenish grenades will only make them last long enough for 1-2 people to use before they pop.
Grenade replenishment from nanohives is fine where it is right now. If you have a problem with spam from supply depots or nanohives, you need to use fluxes (gasp) or learn not to bum rush a supply depot.

id much rather not have my nades get resupplied by nanohives.
and the way to ease the pain for the victims of the locus nade spamming {insert word of choice here} would be to simple even out the damage done between armor and shields.
that way it will wont be effective.
lets say locus nade thrown against player with shields. it would do 400 damage.
thrown against armor. 400 damage.
thrown against a player with 200 shields and 201 armor.
400 damage.
that way spamming is less effective against players yet still deadly.

It only takes one (1) well-placed Militia Locus to take out my Proto Scout. But I like Nades. I like that I can refill 'em. They're a big part of my life these days.
Opening up from behind with a Shotgun ain't what it used to be. Unlike my nades ... my gun's kinda buggy and unreliable. Folks have also gotten beefier and better at turning.
So let's assume you're a high-eHP target with decent gun game. Saying "hello" from behind you with a Locus or Flux is my best bet. It won't kill you, but it'll drop your HP to a level my SG can manage.
Now a Scout gaining the upperhand may make folks angry. So keep in mind that I didn't just toss a win-button at you ...
I found you, stalked you, and maintained appropriate range. I cooked my precious perfect, so it'd pop just right on arrival. I bounced that Locus Power off the back of your helmed dome.
Furthermore, Nades are the only way to disperse a pile of red-dots. I enjoy dispersing piles of red-dots. It keeps things moving. Please don't take away my precious nades :-) |

Nanohives stop resupplieing grenades.
Supply Depots can keep that aspect, otherwise where are people going to get grenades mid-battle?
And, as to alleviate the issue of the now more scarce grenades, keep the current count, as if they were still able to resupply everywhere like now, then I would agree that nades need a lower count, however it still would leave the issue of somebody standing on a nanohive and spamming nades. |

I restock in safety. Not in engagement, and certainly not as a form of attack. |
