!!! I have seen players go 59 and 1 !!! - it was a normal game with full teams, and I was the only person to kill him.
What vehicle has ever done that!?
A fully spec tank needs only to worry about fully spec AV. Lower tier AV is really only annoying before it has a chance to become dangerous. Same with dropships. In my experience vehicles are either nearly unstoppable or laughably destructible. But the same goes for suits, there is no middle ground. It seems that top tier players clean house, or a suit is easy to kill.
This is just the way it feels, I am not saying that this is unbalanced. But this is the most important aspect, how does the game feel? And let me tell you, three assault FGs on a tower doesn't feel very nice.

I agree, a price drop would alleviate the issue of only seeing top tier vehicles.
But how do you stop abuse?
Maybe if you had a skill that decreased isk cost? But this may only make top tiers more prevalent when the goal is to see vehicles on both sides ebb and flow across the field. I want to see dynamic balance and have a fun war. I don't want to learn how to play against cheese tactics.
Just a point, nothing separates a Starcraft 2 champion from a bronze league hero other than the skill of manipulating the controls and prediction of the opponents moves.
Time spent playing is what separates you in dust, not just skill. It's like fighting a UFC champ after karate summer camp--good luck. |

Good point, lower costs may mean more vehicles, but would also mean more AV. Which would then reward the infantry specialists as there would be a lower number of primary weapons to shoot back at them. Is makes for good theory, but we would need to see in practice how lower isk vehicles would work.
If vehicles weren't gods and didn't cost a fortune, there may be less cheese tactics with them. You wouldn't feel the need to cheese in order to survive. It's like how a Thales sniper usually holds out near a supply depot, or head glitches, or does everything in the world not to lose that edge.
