I found a good ISK management method that works for me.
I lock my gains by 5 millions ISK increments. Once a 5 mil. Increment is accumulated, I leave it in my wallet and can't touch it.
So, if I have 7,125,000 ISK; only 2,125,000 ISK can be used to buy stuff.
When I get to 12,500,000; only 2,500,000 can be used and so on... You get the idea!
I've started with zero ISK (bought reserves for all my fittings) and now I am at 30,000,000 ISK and rising.
I'm running expensive gears and I die quite a lot, but still, I manage to rake in the ISKies and have all the fittings I like.
Have some cheap fittings to run too; to avoid expensive deaths and to do some ISK grinding.

I've almost emptied my wallets because of my beat up controller when restocking a fit. No! I don't want to buy 98 fits! |

When I restock, I buy between 100 and 500 of the selected item; depending on the price and how much ISK I have. |

Well I like to change my fit set up in regular intervals and also it seems that I play erratically whenever I have a plethora of suits available. The low stock count helps me manage it effectively, thus benefiting my on field actions. |

Addendum: Dump your savings onto an alt every 1mil or 5mil or whatever so you don't oopsRageSpend after a particularly brutal Dom or something. Forces you to get closer to isk positive on a match by match basis with a little bit of proto fun here and there instead of splurging then having to farm isk for a week.

I put a hard cap on it. I Started out with 40 million when uprising came and I was happy. The I said to myself. I will reach the 100 million milestone. With hard work and determination I reached it only using very very cheep suits. After that and Till now, I go up to 20 million isk and then splurge on proto gear and whatnot till I'm back to 100 million isk and repeat.

I'm now at 60,000,000 ISK and I've bought a lot of Proto stuff meanwhile.
One of the best way to go is to run the cheapest Medic/Rep/Uplink fitting you can do in Ambush

ISK should not be a problem in this game, dump your SP into suit skills run basic fits or BPO fits if you got them before they went away have fun and you rake in the ISK. I have over 320mil now and die around 5 times a game and with a combined K/D and assist kill better than my deaths for each game.
If you do this you normally have a 50/50 chance of winning an encounter and it teaches you battle skills for when you break out your lvl 5 suit and spend 150k ISK. The way things are now with the hit detection a basic suit can kill a proto if you get the drop on him, so why run expensive suits. I am saving my isk for when things get fixed and playing with different fits now and not stressing out if I die in a 14k suit 5 times and make 200k for the game.
This way you can change play style and have fun instead of playing the same map over and over again with the same char, try out different fits and you will become a better player and have more ISK. |

That's a pretty good way, combine that with my method of putting the price before the name of the suit and I bet you could save lots.

I put the price, dmg and HP in the suit name so I can adjust to what other players are doing in the BZ, maybe I have toooo many suits I am constantly being told I am at the max and have to delete one for a new one, but it keeps it interesting.

I do a similar thing. I have a bank character that I scrub my funds to regularly. To be honest I'm not sure how much isk I actually have because I haven't logged on that character in a few months.

Yep, 1,000,000 ISK as the "Ratcheting" Point seems just right!
It's easily attainable and you see quick results. Plus, it makes you buying in low quantites; forcing you to make better choices.

My method of gaining ISK steadily.
1. Use scout fits that only cost 10-25k ISK a fit 2. Always use said scout fits so no matter how crap your result from a match is, you're most likely staying ISK positive 3. Upon gaining 5 million ISK, donate two million to the corp. 4. After making another 5 million ISK, donate two million to the corp 5. Repeat

I think I had ~25M when I came back to Dust around 1.3 or 4. Sitting at about 110M right now, having given away at least 10M in the process. I can't figure out how any non-tanker could run so short of cash as some folks I encounter. It's fairly easy to make a million or three a night if your tax isn't insane. Hell, my bloody COMMANDO alt is up to almost 30 mil after a mere month or so of existence. |
