Hi. I would like a DEV answer for this specific matter, didn't find it elsewhere.
I just started to fly Gorgons and i'm really enjoying being a pilot. My goal is to fly assault dropships (logis too when i have squadmates to help me attack from above) but as i read, it seems they're going to be temporarily removed.
The problem is, I don't know exactly when this change will take place and how long it will last, so what am i supposed to do? If i skill up now, what will happen to the dropships (or any vehicle type) i own when they're removed? At the moment I have 25 Prometheus i earned as a prize, if i don't get to use them (chrash 'em) before vehicle changes will they disappear, be refunded (although they're a reward they're very costly and i worked hard to get them), or will they sit there unable to use until further notice?
SO:
1.- When will these changes arrive? An estimate.
2.-How long will we wait before assault and logistics dropships are available again?
3.-What happens to our assets during their removal?
4.-Should we simply wait and save SP for now?
Thanks! |

not a dev but here's some answers 1)changes are slated for 1.7 last i heard, in other words about 2 months away.
2) far too long for the communities liking is one of the few things to be certain of.
3) i expect that the assets will be removed and that we will be reimbursed the isk value of the assets, that's whats happened in the past when things have been removed
4) we will most likely get an sp refund of the affected skills, in other words spend away, chances are you'll get the sp back when the changes happen, if not, well you won't have to invest the sp again when the ships come back will you? |

Thank you, it's good to hear from older players' experience. This is the first time i see something removed since i started playing Dust, so i don't have a clue about respecs and those stuff. |

It's never a bad idea for vehicle users to invest a bit in infantry. If you have 100% of your SP in vehicles and you come up against a squad of full proto AVers, you won't be able to do much and it'll be a very frustrating game. However, if you'd spent a few million on an advanced suit with an AR, you'll be able to remain somewhat competetive in situations you can't run your first choice fit. To quote IWS 'It's better to be inadequate than incapable'. |

I say just invest enough to know what you're getting into you may not get a chance to see what the vehicle changes might have in store full yet when it's still so far away. |

I now want to move on to new stuff and expand my experience of the game, so i'm asking about this before spending any SP into vehicles. |
