i just find it ridiculous that you can scan a 200m diameter bubble around you. its way too much.
i look at it like this:
a swarm shoots 400m and in visual terms thats a hell of a distance. on some maps that almost the whole area and now we have a scanner that on those same maps can essentially scan half of it. i did a match yesterday and i had almost permanently in the center of my screen "you have been scanned" and i was nowhere near any combat.
i understand the purpose and i like their use but i just think its too much especially all this twirly scanning people are doing. either reduce the range or prevent people from doing this spinning to scan half the map. that or/or give us 2 version, short range 360deg scan or long range pinpoint scan |

As is, I can stand on the ground 360, and scan targets not only scan level but also pick up those roof dwellers 80 m above me. If I pointed it at them than yeah scan, if not, they should be fine. |

+1 I like using the scanner (even before you got points for it) but it does need some checks and balances besides just your profile. |

I think it's fine. Leave it as it is and begin to train up profile dampening. I'm running a met a1 level scanner and i'm almost always getting 100% scan |

The idea of a long-range precision scanner and a 360 burst scanner is a great idea. Walls being a factor seem too overkill, especially with some maps being full of obstacles.
I think that vehicles should play a stronger role in scanning than infantry however. If it were more vehicle focused, i think it would be a pretty good deal. i also think that part of the problem is that there are too many scanners out there, and since scanning can be so powerful it shouldn't be a dime a dozen, and it should yield maybe 5 more points overall. |

Hate to say it bud, but there's more than just me that will run the outskirts to pick snipers / stragglers and Yeh If find you I'm Gunning for you, which mean you may feel you are being deep scanned when you are not besides with 200m is not that far at all |

The 300m version is not large enough either.
I find it ridiculous that we have to physically take out a weapon and aim at a Squad Mate to see who they are and determine their shield/armor status. But we have do to now since CCP/Shanghai removed the ability to sell Scanners.
Add the squad mate information with the scanner. That would be useful. |

the spinning mechanic is, and yes I am a spinner
there are a few ways to stop this, you can make it that the fidelity of the scan decrease if the user is moving so it won't catch as many people, or you can simple slow down turning as if you are ADSing

OP, is there something wrong that you were scanned by flanking red, also outside main battle? Because 100m isn't that long a distance. And yes there exists a special proto 200m scanner but it is not as good in other regards.
Agreeing with Mr Oswald Rehnquist above that spinning is broken, you always get a 360' scan. Which makes one scanner attribute obsolete. Which is turn is stupid at least, more likely broken. |

100m in front of you but when you spin on the spot thats a circle with a 100m radius = 200m diameter bubble. and if you have the flux with 200m scan thats a 400m diameter. |

or remove the scan timer and make it a simple pulse, reduce the cooldown slightly to make up for the change. this way you can watch a certain angle quite easily or pulse different angles for a wider view of the field within a reasonable amount of time |
