This is the perfect reason why you need to move around when you are sniping. Then you aren't a fish in a barrel - you are a counter-counter sniper.

They can find you by tracing your shots or simply knowing where the good sniper locations are.
I was just thinking of building an armor tank sniper that could sit on four or more proto triage hives. I would build the sniper nest with a Logi fitting, then swap out to a heavy suit with the rifle. I figure that might be invincible as long as the hives held out, giving me the opportunity to counter snipe anyone trying to pop me.
Has anyone tried that?
Holy crap dude. If you can't hide, then light yourself up like a fireball, strap on the armor and reps.
I'm actually going to try this audacious rig.
Who knows, you might draw an OB or two away the rest of your team.

P.S. If you get hit by OBs when you are sniping you are likely doing a great job. |
