A lot of people are talking about Officer Weapons being a diamond mine for stockpilers because of there lack of supply.
But wouldn't HAVs be inflated/deflated as well? They cost around .5-2million now, so a player controlled market would probably reduce the price, as demand for HAVs will be low because few players use them. So, going into the new market would it be wise to stockpile HAVs too?
I would think that I wouldn't give up a HAV, because of their possible effectiveness, for anything less than 10mil. I don't want to sell someone a cheap killing machine that they can turn around and use on me in the future. |

Officer weapons are different from any other item when it comes to value assessment because they aren't on the market. Tanks will be subject to the same supply & demand variables as all the rest. So they're not really comparable.
Personally I don't think I'll sell anything unless we're able to sell for Aurum. |

If an HAV cost 1-2.5 Mill minimum to deploy no one would do it, unless they were significantly more durable. |

Who is saying that officer weapons won't be a producible item in the future? Or that we will even have such a thing.
**** officer weapons, I want tech three highly customizable weapons: Barrel, reciver, and stalk. With dozens of different avalable parts for each, all kinds of posible combinations, rare and expensive/difficult to manufacture components. Grips and sights and supresors, and under barrel attachments. Different types ammunition, from the expensive deadly/powerful ammunition like you would find in an officer weapon. Cheap crappy ammo you would find in a standard AR. |

CCP will still set the approximate price of HAVs and other equipment by determining what resources are needed to manufacture them. If pricing pressures put them so low that you can easily make more money by making something else with the same materials in the same amount of time, then fewer people will produce them, supply will decline, and price will go up.
The EVE market has a lot more fluidity than real-life markets because manufacturing facilities are completely interchangeable, only a handful of resources are used, and supply chains are relatively uncomplicated--not to mention the sell side. I would expect the starting price to be high, and it will probably stay a little high for some time as all the new DUST equipment clogs up manufacturing queues. But where it will settle depends on materials, manufacturing constraints, and how much location plays a role in DUST players buying stuff.
To any devs out there, I'm sure there are those of us who would be interested in what your economist has to say about DUST. Even if it's a purely theoretical post. |

I've only been seeing them in the last month, most likely because of the insanely high SP and ISK investments. I see one about once every time I play. But you have to be very rich, because losing one would take 10+ matches to recuperate.
