People would use them as kamikaze Got to realize its up to your team...blow up a tank and it takes a while to respawn and you can lay down land mines that onky takes 2 to blow up a tank...they thought this through its all on your team if they don't want to support the team then yeah helis jets tanks will run over your team but that's how it should be...its a team game and the team working together is the one that dominates |

So for the first match I decided to get used to the controls, switching weapons, understanding why I was getting a threat warning and what not and died a few times just getting used to everything. I went 16/4 that game. The next few games were quite entertaining for myself, 16-20/0-3, even with C4 being able to one shot me, even with a single rocket launcher being able to take off 25% of my HP, I found myself being challenged and being entertained greatly, the ability to switch between weaponry on the tank was great and I was able to pull back and repair myself after a push against an objective. Want to know the best bit though? It didn't cost me any time or effort to get the tank, I could get in one and roll off, no care in the world about the blue dot sitting in my vehicle because if we died, we could get another one. In DUST, the main thing for a Tanker is staying alive and saving money, we become selfish and we have less fun due to the fact we have to watch everything we're doing, and if you do it a lot it can get quite "stressful", but in BF4? I could push up with my team and I wasn't hindered in any way.. I actually rolled with a friendly squad, with them pushing up and me providing covering fire, it felt brilliant. Tank v Tank is just fast enough, it takes about four shots from an AP round to destroy a tank, so battles can be over quickly, but it appears those with even the slightest tactical sense can drag out a battle, and because Engineers can repair you, you can fall back for a moment and come back swinging. That's another thing, Engineers being able to repair you is wonderful, not only does your tank rep itself, but Engineers can do it even faster meaning I actually want to be around other players. Tankers, if you get a chance, go try BF4 Beta just to play around in a Tank, I'm pretty sure the stuff you've been doing in DUST would greatly aid you (and your KDR) as if you utilize the similar caution you use in DUST, you win, a lot.

Literally every downside you just listed about tanking in dust, is what makes dust, dust. Don't want to earn your way to a tank? this game is not for you. Don't want to worry about your vehicle loss having consequences? This game is not for you. While I'm not about to say vehicles in this game are perfect, I find it discouraging that I've seen you lobby quite heavily for changes in tanking on the forums over the past few months, and If these two main principles are what you're essentially lobbying against, please just go and play another game. I for one don't want this game watered down to the no consequence pick-up-and-play game you seem to have enjoyed so much. There are plenty of games like that, and I do enjoy playing them from time to time, but variety is the spice of life and I would draw no satisfaction in having all fps games with their own flavour of vanilla.
Sounds like ppl in EVE. This is why EVE only ever keeps a core amount of players esp. for the combat and why DUST, because it is only the combat will die.
CCP can't afford to think this way.

Nice tanks fully fitted should cost around 300K ISK - but they should be a tiny bit vulnerable to small-arms fire near their rear waste-heat vents. |

Also notice, the speed of your tank is amazing, you can actually go faster than infantry, also, you can actually use a tank for transport because its fast. In dust, tanks are literally 100 ton machines with 200 horsepower, 300 torque and less armor than a smart car.
Also, the Av is balanced. You have to reload after every RPG shot and with fast tanks, it also gives you a chance to get away. |

the funny thing about bf4 tanks is the effectiveness of c4..
only thing need to kill them is c4..
i have started to grab that truck stick some c4 onto the front grill equip the detonator.
and drive into an enemy tank or group jump out press button and get several kills..
sad thing is it only works if u manage to dodge the tank rounds...
now for the rpg spam fest there on bf4. only thing to worry about is ppl who love c4...
in dust. av is extremely powerful.
a proto breach forge can pretty much ohk anything with the right fitting.
the thing about bf4 tanks is they heal over time as well.. dust tanks dont u need a repper...
which is to be expected as it is dust 514.
all in all ive been more effective with the bf4 tank than with my dust tank..
mostly because ppl will run up towards me trying to blow me up with c4..
with the bf4 tanks in general u only die if u get surrounded so u can be more aggressive with the tank |

Controls were switched a little from BF3 (PC- roll and yaw were switched and gave me trouble). I honestly don't see what's so different in BF4 so I just went back to BF3 where flying attack helicopters was almost intuitive for me. handling feels much more responsive, or maybe i've been playing too much dust and not enough bf3 before jumping on the beta. and yeah the new control scheme is garbage, i just switched the controls back to what i use for dust and bf3. i wish dropships handled like that in dust. |

5hitbucket reporting in.
Yeah. BF4 is a lot of fun, but omf...G does the sway of the characters running give me a headache and stomach ache. It's just too damn much sway from L to R.
Feel like I'm wading through treacle, not running for my life.
Other gripes:
-Icon cluster fuckin' up the screen. -Characters get stuck on 6 inch steps and cant figure out how to step over them; result: space bar spamming. -Helicopters are not as maneuverable as they need to be for the environment; result: boring moves versus epic weaving and 180 tail-flips of d00m. -characters look awesome close up - but any farther than 15 feet, they blend into specs of grey or black; result: 'is that an enemy' moments resulting in spamming the Q button more than BF3. -netcode needs a lot more work before release...too many times the 300 frames of animation it takes for an enemy to jump over something are skipped, making aiming a nightmare. -Game feels slow in general terms -squad spawn is tiresome for either: spawn-die-spawn-die OR kill team, turn, die to recently spawned squadder nanoseconds after you turned -Scale feels wrong: targets/objects you think are 800 metres away are actually 100 metres away. -The tanks pivot too much/too easily -The jeeps don't have any weight to them, flying through the air with the smallest bump in the road. -ADS'ing is too high or too low on some weapons, requiring re-alignment after lining up a shot up or down - crosshair annoyance and bullet waste -Microphone is essential to succeed: unless competing against total idiots with no comprehension of basic FPS mechanics or objective team-based gaming.
There's more but that'll do.
