They're simply put; too good.
We have played with the improved hit detection for quite some time now and all the players I've talked with agrees with me.
The game is in its current state too explosive heavy, we need to dampen this without breaking the nades into uselessness.
Suggested change:
- Reduce amont carried to 2.
- The M1 nade's stats should be the proto level (with current proto fitting cost) and the current Core Locus nades should be removed from the marked but stay as officer level salvage. There need to be made a new nade for lvl 3 with stats inbetween the current lvl 1 and lvl 3 nades.
A similar change should happen to the Flux nades, I have no clue about AV and will keep them out of this since this is a matter of infantry vs infantry - explosives vs main weapon efficiency debate, or something like that...
IMO the M1 Locus nades are strong enough to be effective but not close to broken as the current Core locus nades are. The idea is to reduce the level of nade spam, without making the nades redundant and nerfed beyond usefullness like for example the breach ARs. The M1 nades can OHK any suit in the game, (well perhaps not the tankiest of the heavy suits) as long as the explosion detonate close enough to the targets head.
I hope to reward skillfull use of the nades, and make spamming them less of a viable option. I have red several suggestions that they should not be re-stockable through nanohives, I don't agree. I'm in favor off small changes for balance, not extreme flips, and I remember all the QQ threads from back when the hives didn't restock nades...

More like a primary weapon. All I run is an Exile yet when I get the jump on someone their immediate reaction is to duck behind a corner, cook and toss a nade and blow me sky high.
Sorely tempted to drop my fluxes, but I love the equipment clearance on these things.
I think they (locus nades, and maybe also AV nades) should draw more nanites to resupply so those grenade spammers start to consume hives and supply depots rapidly, which penalises their whole team for their selfishness.
Either that or implement a heavy variant with high explosive damage resistance; or explosive retardant modules. |

doing what you suggest to fluxes will not effect them vs infantry c7 fluxes base dmg rating is like 1500 ...they need to reconfigure the way fluxes work so they are equally effective vs infantry and vehicles..currently the insta pop all infantry shields at any lvl. and deal massive amounts of dmg to vehicle shields.
what i want from fluxes
stnd 22% total shield hp encountered stolen adv 32% proto 42%
this
so say for example you run into a gunlogi you wouldnt be able to flux massdriver kill it..as even hitting all your fluxes would take its shield hp to critical without wiping it out 100%
also with no dmg rating and instead a shields encountered lost % they will still be effective vs vehicles while not devastating infantry. |

I was in a REAL explosive festival the other day... A couple of guys with Plasma Cannons, few Mass Drivers, a Forge Gunner sniping from a roof, and in top of that lots of Proto naders spamming grenades all over the place....I spent the full match shaking like a Maraca. |

Well, to clarify, I think the Fluxes vs infantry is sort of fine the way it is now. Except for amount carried and the insane effective blast radius of Flux nades, I have no problem with them stripping all my shields. |

IMO nades are the logi sidearm, there is no need to nerf them, but have 2 nades instead of 3 is reasonable. |

How to stop explosive spam
Step 1: Stop spamming nades at every moment Step 2: CCP needs to stop nanohives and supply depots from refilling nades Step 3: Drop em from 3 to 2 |

I agree with nanohives not restocking nades but I think they can keep it so supply depots can still restock them but maybe slower that way you can still get your nades back but it wouldn't be so easy to spam |
