I REALLY hate the HDMI now. Been using it for six months. Even with my 70" flat screen, the text in local is to small to read. I also can not snipe in HDMI. The "black shadows" that hardly ever show a red arrow are just to small. They blend in with the buildings they walk past, making them nearly invisible.
I was just curious if anyone else switched back to standard def? |

Snipers need a scope buff...... :)
Scope options would be a nice add on. |

Hdmi sniper ftw, if its the arrows you don't like you can adjust their transparency in the settings. |

I hate standard def, theres not a lot to be impressed by with std, I prefer HDMI, I can actually see what details they put in. |

youre putting yourself at a disadvantage playing on a bigger screen
your screen should be X(distance in inches from screen) divided by 3
a bigger screen also means you have to process more information and respond at a slower rate
srsly who the **** even enjoys a big screen?

I'm running on a 24inch computer monitor and the details look great. of course I'm also only sitting 2-3 feet away from the screen. It looks better then a 42 inch I used to play on from across the room 12 or so feet away. You can't play this game with 2 people on the same TV so smaller and closer gets you a bit of a better advantage. |

The problem with sniping in dust, scopes don't do what they are intended for....ZOOOOM

Not too long ago I switched from a CRT TV to an 39" LED TV but didn't get an HDMI cable so was stuck using 480p. Man, at full screen anything over 70 meters started to become a pixelated mess. Ended up only using about 30-40% of the screen to have thing actually look alright at distance.
Finally got an HDMI cable and it's amazing the difference an extra 240 pixels makes. Personally I'll never go back to 480p unless I get a small CRT TV again. The only visual problems I have now aren't with the TV but with the game itself. Draw distance and rendering are something CCP can't seem to wrap their heads around. But to be fair, like I said before, they're learning how to make an FPS as they make this game. |

This I've seen only too well, best thing to do is get someone with a scanner to scan them and shoot under the carrot. Pew! |

I used to play games on a projector when I worked at college. It was fantastic! The characters where bigger than I was. If the bulbs weren't so expensive, i'd have one at home. |

If I didn't want to watch TV or play anything while the sun was up I'd have one too ... I don't know what the new ones are like, but when I was looking years ago the cheapest -ú1,000 ones were rubbish in anything but a dark room, I imagine the -ú400-500 ones these days are the same, maybe the -ú1,000 ones aren't so bad anymore. |

When I first started playing Dust I was using a Scart or composite cable for the TV connection. I couldn't read anything. Not sure if this is what you are asking about though.
