If you want to scrap your ps3 then by all means have fun doing it.
I am not getting a ps4 until dust decides to move it there. Until then I am happy to stay here and enjoy a free game.

I often wonder what is going on int he head of people when posts, such as the one above are written. Is the person having a rough day? Are they just tired of hearing the same response to the same ole question?
OR, are they having a moment where there individuated identity becomes salient, and the only way they know how to express it is through bashing on other peoples' responses or observational choices?
One has to wonder that if a person needs to respond in such an abrasive and crass manner, then what bug crawled up their but and began to dance a jig on their spleen?
So many questions and so very few brain cells that may never be engaged to consider them. Oh the issues with assumptive leaps and cognitive short cuts.

everything takes 5 seconds to happen after I press a button...
hop in a vehicle, press O... 5 seconds later im in the seat, reloading, press square, 5 seconds later im reloading, supply depot, hacking.... everything is taking 5 seconds to get done after I press the buttons... I cant play anymore. |

If dust was on PC right now it would have 15,000 players online at a time all day just for being a free game, but no the PS3 will do better...
Meanwhile World of tanks, War thunder, PS2, marvel universe, WoW, FF14, and more F2P PC games are coming out at launch on PS4. Meaning Dust will be a console exclusive, and lose to free to play PC games, on consoles.
Dust is going to be the only F2P "MMO" on consoles only, while the rest just port to PS4 from a PC platform. What is wrong with this picture!? |

Why do you think that is?
It will take a long time before next gen will have a larger install base than current gen. I'd give it at least a year or so, but by then CCP hopefully has a plan for it. DUST is a perfect match for PS4. |

That's not the game that's you.
Update your router.
Empty your ps3 hard drive a bit to free up some space.
De frag your ps3
Clean out the dust from your ps3 once a month.
Not doing any one of these seriously affects your ps3 in the long run, my nets not the best and runs dust fine so to me if your running that ridiculously slow its on your end, you should know this its pretty obvious, if it was dust we'd all be lagging that bad.

The engine behind the client is not a factor - that is only one piece of a lot of moving parts. As an IT professional, it's been my experience that this is this case - for example the underlying engine of my company's VPN clients is standard, but because of issues with the client in terms of working with Windows 7 64 bit, it had to be scrapped for a new client (using the same engine) that would work with the new technology out there. |

Actually, not attacking. Rather I am questioning the line of reasoning and what sort of mental faculties are creating such a delineation. If you wish to consider it an attack, that is a decision made by OP about the observed content of the message with little context to help shape the understanding of what was posted (i.e., said). Also, typically I have found that people who have become offended by such trivial statements are often offended to begin with and are only looking to vent the frustration tat is usually associated to such offenses. For that I am sorry that you felt and continue to feel that way.
At least we are being civil, RIGHT? I mean, that is unless you would like to have a one on one in a battle to settle these differences like men  .

you do however, need a ps4 to play 32 vs 32 in bf4 or an xbox one or a pc. ps3 will not be 32 vs 32.

We are talking DUST and PS4. Well, not actually. The point is that DUST in on the PS3 and is going to stay there for sometime so quit QQ about it. Keep the PS3 to run DUST if you want. Dump DUST if you don't. No big deal. The new consoles are just cheap PCs. The reason to buy any of them, PC included, is to play the games you want to play.
The games you mentioned are perfectly valid reasons to buy a PS4. Even an Xbone. Although, personally, I recently built a gaming PC so my PS3 and my Xbox 360 will have to suffice. No more consoles for me.
Witcher 2 ... yuck, they changed all the fight mechanics? Witcher 3 has potential though.

The changes are straight forward but would obviously be beyond the capabilities of CCP/Shanghai while they are deep in DUST development. It would mean, essentially, nearly a full second team and that doesn't make economic sense when the original isn't up to par as yet.
Once DUST hits a proper Release status then taking six months to do the port should be a possibility. In particular when they can develop DUST on UnReal 4 with PCs before they use it on any console. Once on UnReal 4 the changes from PC to console is mostly configuration changes in the build environment. DUST is not a extend the genre of FPS into the next century sort of a game. So this should be possible. Just takes time, resources and a solid base to move from. |

The point is that no one on my friends list is going WHAAA! no dust 514 on PS4.
The conversations I hear are WOW!! theres this NEW game for PS4 or Xbox one or even heres a new PS3 game.
Today instead of playing Dust all I did was log in then log out and play Diablo 3 Demo and my friends list?
FF REalm Reborn, Payday 2, BF4 Beta, GTA V, etc.
The point is that Dust 514 went from being played every day by everyone on my friends list to a just log in and log out game.
Maybe, maybe I will play a game or two of Dust 514 but no way and no how is it the go too game on my PS3 anymore.

That cannot happen simply because the ps3 uses a cell architecture while the ps4 uses a x86. |

Sony has said themselves that it will be hard to port games from ps3 to ps4 because of the different architectures of the two systems. My guess at how long it'll take is at least a year and a half if not more to port dust over. |

WHO said anything about BF4. As for Destiny, it doesn't come out till next spring and I would rather play it on the PS4.
The thing is that the PS4 will have PS3 emulation software, so there will no be any porting necessary, initially.
IWS, you should really check out some of the specs and the projected addressments PS4 will have in regards to the previous generation of games and "porting" before spewing off like that.
Yet, it doesn't surprise me that you would. |

Are they just tired of hearing the same response to the same ole question? OR, are they having a moment where there individuated identity becomes salient, and the only way they know how to express it is through bashing on other peoples' responses or observational choices? One has to wonder that if a person needs to respond in such an abrasive and crass manner, then what bug crawled up their but and began to dance a jig on their spleen? So many questions and so very few brain cells that may never be engaged to consider them. Oh the issues with assumptive leaps and cognitive short cuts. EDIT - ADDITION: If I make it that far, I may be surprised, but I am aware that I am a glutton for punishment. I am sure I will be, but the question comes down to this; will DUST be available to me when I make the leap to the PS4? I know that there will be a PS3 emulator that will be available for the PS4, but the question is in what time frame? As for DUST, I keep hoping that new content will begin to become available so that my Caldari cross-trained in Amarrian tech (I have to show some support for the State's allies, but I am only responsible to my corporation and its continuing profitability. I am a mercenary after all  ). The community, for good and bad, has been the best one I have had the pleasure of engaging with on any console game, or FPS, to date. Let us just hope that the PS4 doesn't dissect this community come Nov 15.

Clueless much? EA like all publishers( including your precious CCP) are in this to make money. What incentive would EA have to deliberately prohibit BF4 from being 32 vs 32 on a PS3. Based on your idiot logic, they would be getting a cut out of every xbox one and ps4 sold to by making it only 32 vs 32 on the new consoles and deliberately preventing it on the old ones. A lot of us were on the Beta but it got old quickly. I know right now we are just waiting to see who gets it for PS3 or 4. Right now Iggy is doing a lot of home projects while he is temporarily unemployed. Im still up in the air since Im not too thrilled with it for the PS3 and am really just waiting for Destiny. |

I myself am a very very cheap person. I buy everything i can on as much of a discount as i can. In fact i even bought my ps3 broken and missing stuff from ebay. Then spent about 20 minutes looking up info about the ps3 and common problems with it and was able to fix my ps3 (ylod issue) with about 20$ worth of materials ( thermal pads and really good thermal compound )
So i myself will probably not even own a ps4 untill the broken ones start to flood ebay and i can do research on how to fix them. |

Nah this is me on a good day. I'm actually quite productive and very hard working! :D My research lab lost its funding last year though so I have resorted to my favorite past time which is trolling. I like to think I'm good at the fine art of trolling and expertly skating around personal attacks.
I'm not too concerned about capitalism it will destroy itself as the teachings of Marx prescribe. Capitalists themselves are not evil, but the system that capitalism, true capitalism.. the system of society it creates is very detrimental to the human experience!
No feathers are ruffled and I hope none of yours are. I am glad you can feel love. :D Its a great feeling.
