Would be scary to think what Marauder would be now if he had been shotgunning most of his career in Dust 
Seems like only recently he took up shotgunning from being a heavy (he was a badass heavy too).
It is interesting, it seems most heavies I knew that moved on, did one of two things:
1. Went to tanks
2. Became scout shotgunners
Seems like it is a natural transition for a heavy HMG player for some reason. They either choose the polar opposite of a heavy, which is a scout shotgunner, or take it one step further and spec into tanks. |

Calamity Jane II was the first to show me the way of the shotgun which is now my main weapon of use in pubs and in pc battle. that's why he is number #1.
NOTE: if you haven't out shotgunned these guys you aint no shotgunner
if your a heavy the only fear we ever truly felt was from these shifty, sneaky, scourges, of such an honorable game.
abusing the jump button combined with the huge pufff smack to the face by a scout!!!????

When that CRG shotgun does over 500 damage I don't think you can be a top shotgunner, just use that and OHK. |

im paranoid style player shotgun rarely kill me however when i see a bunch of srcub i get distracted becuz after killing them all 0.5 to 1 sec later shotgunner shot me in the back. |

I've not gotten a chance to see Mr. Bang yet. I do want to one day, and rip him a new one. First thing first though, I want Marauder. He's yet to kill me 1v1 shotty, and I haven't either. He keeps on running, or some **** ruins our battle (usually on my end  ). |

I will admit the HARDEST fight I had against shotgunners were hands down Calamity and Annie....but with that it was unfair to fight them when they BOTH ran almost as fast as me, were in Proto tier. 2 Minnie logis (Uprising release), girl characters (smaller hitbox like scout) and were using KB/M. So take it how you want or think how you want, I never liked the fact that during this time period it was ridiculous trying to fight a KB/M. Their spin radius was super fast (if not faster) and more responsive on fighting. |

It isn't as strange as you'd think.
HMG Heavy = ducking from cover to cover, flanking as best you can, spanking at close range
Shotty Scout = ducking from cover to cover, flanking as best you can, spanking at close range + speed x5
Similar play style, just a choice between slow and beefy or fast and fragile. Most dedicated heavies I know have dabbled with Shotty Scout at some point or another.
I gave it a rest in Uprising, but it was damn fun at one point.  |

You can't be good (or bad) with a shotgun in this game if the weapon in completely broken, and not made for this game. |
