They need to add a BPO Jet Pack and DLC Skins. I believe The Unreal engine can do a grapple hook too. So, that would be cool. $10 each and $1.99 for skins. Basically, think CCP that the average consumer will be up for spending around $25-$50 max for this game and think of ways to get that money. Me spending $99.99 on this game is not gonna happen, but I do have an Exile AR BPO that was $10 with 2k Aurum added in the bundle.
So, that leaves me $15 More that I would feel comfortable spending. Is there even DUST avatars? Those should be free as it would promote the game to Friends List folks scrolling about. |

They really should be thinking smaller scale. Low costing packs that introduce multiple roles. I don't see the reason to pick these up as an old player, and can't imagine a new player picking them up. |

This is the Economist at CCP getting ready to do some work.. Take it as a step towards having an active DUST market... Sadly he doesn't like BPO's in DUST. Maybe when we get a market you can use all the Isk you saved while running the Aurum fit's from Merc pack to buy the BPO's off market.

It depend if those items are all no-skill or the equivalent of current 'Neo' items. If they're no-skill and pre-fitted with proto modules, this could actually be a pretty good idea. i.e. Newb buys a W.A.R. Hoplon kit, plays ~10 matches as a proto cal assault and 10 as a proto min logi, and THEN they have to grind their way up. That could seriously increase retention. If they're the equivalent of current Neo items, these packs are the biggest ripoff ever. This mentality has to be our equivalent of EVEs "what I mine is free." Just cause you have a proto suit doesn't mean you will do better. Better gear will not make up for a lack of skill. Noobs will still go 0/12 in these proto suits even if they are no skill. Then they will say "if this is the best gear in the game and Im still doing this bad then I have no chance" and then they will leave. Uhh, gear completely makes up for a certain level of skill deficit in this game. In a head-to-head AR fight, a tanked-out protosuit has about 2x the TTK of a militia suit, meaning the protobear can miss half their shots and still win. I'm sick of people saying proto gear is no substitute for skill. Yes, if you put a dog in front of a controller and give it a protosuit, it will lose, but if the person is proto gear is even mildly competent and rolling tanked-out like they should be, it's a massive advantage and guarantees a win in many situations purely by the numbers. Proto gear is little advantage against |skilled| player!
In a fight between a noob in militia and a noob in Proto. Proto noob will win.
A skilled veteran in militia gear will wipe @$$ with the proto scrub.
The main reason skilled people want proto is to have leverage against other skilled people. I.E: In a fight between a skilled vet in militia and a skilled vet in Proto, the proto player has a HUGE advantage against the other player. The advantage is not from the equipment itself, it is because the player has the knowledge and finesse to apply it effectively. |

I like the idea of BPO's even if they are militia grade, but CCP isn't making this game for FREE. |

Things people would actually pay for that wont make this game p2w
- Skins for weapons/vehicles/dropsuits - Customizeable MQs - Faction change - Name change (with a log of it in your history) - Respec
Its not that hard to invest some time to things that would be quite easy to do and there would be a ton of people that would take advantage of it. Hell, sell the skins in small packs that are 5-10 a piece and the hoarders would buy every one of them.
The old merc packs were good because they carried the one thing that everyone wanted each month and that was the active booster and enough AUR for a passive to go along with it. I would possibly pay for any of the stuff listed above but see zero reason to buy anything in the packs they are selling. |

They dont accurately describe the suits involved. The psblog site describes the suits as suits with the C-I suffixes for standard suits, but the announcement on the forums describes them as the advanced suits with the C-I/series suffix. So which are they? If they are special advance suits with complex mods they could be worth it too scrubs, noobs, blueberries. But they are still too darn expensive and they need a kit with cheaper boosters. |

After I got 14 mill sp, I have little interest in buying boosters and even less interest in the bpc aur items. The only thing that may perk my interest to buy anything else are bpo's or custom colors. When I was told that bpo's will no longer be in the market place, I spent all my remaining aur on the bpo's that I didn't have and most likely will never use, because they had more worth to me than a booster.
CCP got a lot of money from me since the beginning, but now i'm in the bum phase. Just using their resources and being a corpse to fill a match slot, which could be a problem if there are a lot of ppl in the bum phase and little incoming new players. |
