Hey Levi nice to see you are no longer banded again, but to the matter at hand.
I have seen so many of the declarations to quit that I have lost count, and I am sorry to hear that someone is leaving because of an unfinished beta. Yes I know CCP has said that the game was released, but with games like this they never leave beta.
There is nothing that can be said that well make everyone happy, but all I can say is maybe you dropship pilots should try to use different approaches to evading incoming fire. Every time I have shot down a dropship with my rail tank, yes I am a tanker and you do not see me yelling on the forums for buff this nerf that, but back to what I was saying. Every time I downed a dropship is because you always use the same tactic try and escape, and that is to jam the throttle wide open and try to gain alt to escape. Try something new, lord knows I have learned about a few places to get my tank hull down to force the enemy to either hit the ground ahead of me and they have to either become snipers to hit the small turret on the roof of my tank or get in close and personal to dig me out.
Ok I know I started rambling there but there is a point to it. Try something new, or old if you were in the closed beta, try flying low and fast and try to not stay in one area longer then the time it takes to drop off a squad. Dropships are not gunships they are meant to transport a squad into a hot zone and then fall back to a staging ground and wait for the next spawn wave, and while in the staging area you rep resources. In my opinion the assault dropship was a major mistake, and the way that pilots are using them is just wrong, though I do have to admit that they are fairly effective at hunting down inattentive tanks and snipers.
I know most people well just shout me down and say that AV needs a nerf, which I well not complain too, but I hope some of pilots well think about how you are being killed and were you are in relation to the ground when it happens, and if it happens that you get shot down because you are floating 100s of meters above the ground then it is your own fault for presenting people on the ground with such an inviting target.
Again I know this looks like a long disjointed ramble but hopefully it well get some of you thinking. And again hey Levi nice to see you off the ban list but lets just see how long it lasts this time. |
