I know you gave 5 points for equipment destruction,, how about 10 points if we hack it,, and if the enemy go to hack it back it explodes killing the person for a bonus 25 points.. so in total you get 35 points for actually hacking equipment which gets re-hacked,, its just a idea that i came up with..
Lets see what everyone else thinks !! |

I'll support a equipment hacking mechanic the second I can put on the dropsuit/weapons of a merc I just killed. Until then, if you want to earn WP for equipment usage, skill into it yourself. |

Not only does hacking equipment open up a lot more potential for abuse, but wasting the time to hack disposable equipment prevents that person from contributing in more meaningful ways and opens them up to being shot in the back while they're distracted.
Maybe--maybe--we allow people to hack equipment that they have the skill to use. But don't give them WP for it, because chances are good they're not helping the fight, and if they are they'll get WP as if they deployed the equipment anyway.
And as to your last point, why would anyone go back to re-hack their equipment if it was just going to blow up and kill them? |

I see your point in regards people re hacking it.. i meant other people who re hack it get blown up.. just means theres more things to do on the battlefield,, instead of getting proto stomped 90% of the time.. which helps noobs gain sp to level up.. |

+1 to original hacking idea. We need to give people a reason to think about where they put equipments. Nanohive hell, uplink spam, yadda yadda. What if we could take them for our own? As for rehacking the equipment back, i think that if an equipment lasts that long, then it would be quite pointless to begin with. |

You should check out this thread on Using Radiation Zones to Curtail Drop Uplink Use. I think it's a novel way to recondition but not force players to discontinue uplink spam of objectives. Plus it creates a system for highly dynamic play. |
