People seem to be missing a bit of context concerning tensions between the Minmatar and Gallente in the last few months, which are now subsiding.
After the mass shooting at the cultural festival on Luminaire (where, let's not forget, a great deal of citizen from both empires were killed. Karin Midular, may she rest in peace, was merely the highest profile among them) the Minmatar governence became furious about lack of details about the crime, which merely was a result of the differences between the two cultures legal systems. They accused the Gallente of hiding information from them, while the Gallente were simply performing their investigations and judicial proceedings as normal.
instead of waiting for the Gallente proceedings to complete (it was a Gallente citizen who perpetrated the crime, on Gallente territory, at a Gallentean-hosted event, and with Gallentean as well as Minmatar casualties. It makes sense that since the Gallente captures him, they would have first go at judicial proceedings) the Minmatar tried to force the Federation to abort their legal process and hand over the criminal. They did this with a DIRECT INCURSION into Gallente space with a small capital fleet.
The Naglfar dreadnoughts were immediately confronted by an equal sized force of Moros dreadnoughts who urged them to turn back. The Minmatar captains were so focused on their need for immediate revenge they not only ignored the warning, and the pleas from nearby capsuleers to cease their foolishness, but they OPENED FIRE on the Moros group (remember, the MINMATAR were the ones who opened fire on their ALLIES)
The Moros retaliated, and obliterated the Minmatar fleet, but sustained many losses themselves. On that day, Minmatar vessels willfully murdered thousands of Gallentean men and women. They also met their own doom, which is likely why cooler heads began to prevail after the incident.
The burst of discriminatory violence that was seen, the one we are talking about now, was a direct result of the actions of that Minmatar fleet. Despite all the other events that occured, the Minmatar lashed out at the Gallente as a whole, taking their anger out on their own allies. This resulted in the wave of violence, which now thankfully seems to be passing. Like any wound, this one will heal with time, and it is not THIS discrimination that should be of concern.

((Also as an OOC note: |
Lore wise, as an ammarian Templar or other loyal clone soldier, you would never be offered land or slaves. Amarrian belief says that cloning destroys the soul, damning the man. The Templars were tools of necessity, the blessed damned souls who would give their lives over and over for the empire knowing they would never see paradise themselves, and hoping that perhaps their deeds could earn them salvation after all.
If you're gonna RP Amarr...do it right)) |
