I assume you mean Heavy HMG as the Forge is pretty straight forward, the biggest piece of advice I would give is not to only play heavy. Now I understand that sounds like a troll comment but unless you are indoors defending a point you aren't really helping anyone but I have had a lot of success mowing people down indoors and usually hit atleast triple positive (pubs of course). The last game I played heavy I went 34/3 by camping one objective, problem is if they don't come to that objective which means you then fall asleep because you cant go outside because there is a world of assrape out there.
I am very guilty of bitching about the HMG but it isn't that bad, its just a very limited and frustrating class to use and not always useful. That's why the class isn't much fun, it basically cant be mained (some do though and that's fine) but has the same SP investment as others. I would say that if your indoors use it, if not go a medium frame. |

-Use vehicles for long distance transport
-Complex Dmg Mods over Shield Extenders
-Use Flux grenades with the HMG
-If you have Proto and can afford to run it, do so. If not, then run STD fittings. ADV fittings are not much better.
-Expect to die a lot.
-Expect to be unable to run away from short to mid range engagements.

Get a good logi on your side.
But beforehand tell him what your running as he'll need a freakin insane repper. Adv triage at the very least and that really isn't good enough.
Give him massive respect since, if you do go full tank, he'll stop getting triage points less than 1/4 of the way through healing you. My usual Heavy gives me 10 isk 'tips' for the heal 
in fact the only way I'm not spending the entire match not sat looking at his arse is to bring in a LLAV  |
