This topic has been brought up already. The general consensus is that we should adopt the Eve Online style of bounty hunting which is one of the most balanced bounty systems so far. |

Bounties make ZERO sense in this game.
They make much greater sense to those looking to pad their wallets. |

True. but when I was thinking about it, is isk enough of a incentive? That's why started thinking about the extra SP.
ISK is a much greater incentive since its something that you constantly need every time you finish a match.
The rewards become much greater if the Eve Online bounty system is adopted. Read the evelopedia concerning this on how the system works.

This isn't a sandbox, your job is to kill the enemy team. You should not be punished for doing your job correctly.
Do you even know how the bounty system works in Eve? |

However there is a problem you don't get quite so many copies of spaceships as you do dropsuits. People run specific ships and often do regular activities.
In EVE there is a reason not to loose your ships, they can put you back weeks! In DUST it only costs you 250,000 isk max per suit. So its not like you really have to protect an investment!
There needs to be a reason for someone to be fearful when a bounty is placed on their head. They shouldn't be looking forward to cannon fodder.
Hopefully that will change once the player run economy is finally running and suits become exceedingly expensive. But that won't be for maybe another year at the earliest. |

Read the evelopedia concerning this on how the system works. https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/BountyIt also had the power of making the target suffer longer financially. If you do the math, the bounty target will have to lose 500 million ISK worth of suits, equipment, vehicles, etc. just to clear a 100 million ISK bounty assuming 20% of the value of the lost asset is subtracted from the bounty pool and added to the hunter's wallet. Man this would be awesome. Could we make it so you have had to been killed by the person in a match a few times before you can place a bounty on them? I know it breaks with the spirit of the whole thing, but I can see people abusing this and just putting bountys on the top players only.
I don't see that happening. If Eve players have free reign to post a bounty on you just for being a bad forum poster then it's likely the same thing will apply here in DUST. |

I hope you don't think suits become too expensive! If suit prices are gonna up, your average joe is gonna need more than pub matches and bounties for income. I mean a lot more!
Which only emphasizes the importance of implementing PVE and better rewards for faction warfare. |

Also why spend money to grief someone? Especially since they can switch to std, and have pub match ambushes till they clear!
Are you willing to clear a 100 million ISK bounty by losing 500 million ISK worth of gear? |

Skihids wrote:Everyone is shooting at whoever is in front of them at the moment. Who's going to to bounty hunting in the middle of a match?
What are they supposed to do? Walk through a sea of red dots to go find one in particular?
It works in EVE because EVE isn't constant PVP with someone always looking to put you down. How the hell would anyone even know they were killed for a bounty when they have 16 red dots trying to kill them every moment they are on the field?
A bounty isn't going to increase the danger. We deploy to battle knowing we are going to be shot at. We budget for it.
Anyone specifically hunting someone on the battlefield is going to die more than his target due to ignoring all the more dangerous red dots on the field.
It's like playing assassin when every other person on the street is an assassin too and is looking to off you when you aren't paying attention.
It's an idea. Keep in mind that many changes to gameplay will occur long before bounty hunting comes in. This can become especially true if open world maps were introduced. That said, I don't think we'll see a bounty system for another year or two like the economy. But it's nice to discuss it now so that CCP can have some ideas to work with. |

Call it what you like to call it. It's fair game in New Eden. If you can't take the heat, stay away from the kitchen. |
