As we all join a CCP server to battle in rather than the battle being hosted on one player's machine... They would have to be able to hack the incoming IP information of the server itself and be able to sort the Eve IDs from the Dust IDs. Then they would have to track the IP to DoS it. Because if they DoSed the server, they would be messing the game up for themselves as well. I don't see it really working in their favor and it's a lot of work just to win a PC battle.

Listening to unencrypted packets can lead to smart individuals understanding what information is being passed to what server and a traceback of those packets can lead a listener to information about a home address and all it would take is an automated listener on the connection a person is using Dust to all associated connections provided they used their router to traceback all associated IPs connected to the user as we all are when we connect to a battle server.

Several programs will allow a standard desktop to be used as a router, share internet connections and to listen to packets. It would not be hard to set this up and as such it seems possible that they may be doing nothing more than listening to their own unencrypted data to find other user's IP addresses by using a simple program that is freely available on Ubuntu (also free) and very useful for diagnosing network issues or watching for unauthorized access to a system.

The problem with using this to hack other people's connections is that there are laws against DDOSing or MDOSing someone. This can result in jail time as well as visits from men in black suits depending on the severity of the hack. I would hope that if someone is doing this that they would be charged and prosecuted. I hope that this is not the case and whatever the cause of the issues, is resolved through solutions to load or whatever else the problem is.

This is stupid, and I hate that I'm defending AE here but really? Really?! Hacking TQ? DoSing your IP address? You honestly think that is what is happening Kalos Family? You think that someone has gone through the trouble of hacking TQ stealing your IP address then setting up a bot-net (which requires yet more hacking) simply to slow down your internet performance for a game? That is by far the most idiotic, paranoid, and even slightly delusional concept I have read on these forums.

Ignoring the fact that you clearly have a pretty ludicrously high opinion of your own skills to justify this king of attention from a competitor in a game, you really need to think about occam's razor next time you feel like posting something so dumb. The simpler, more reasonable, and probably correct answer is that everyone gets this lag and it is a result of some optimization in the game not working as intended (or some such thing).

You're not getting DoS attacked. Yes, Arianna is a melee glitcher. We all know he cheats that way, but that is where it stops.
