Um no please, it should have a lesser range but higher damage than normal blasters, as it is currently. The change they should make is to lessen damage to below compressed. I like the "shotgun" element to them as they are. Close and deadly. However they would be out ranged/damaged by Compressed, but not out-DPS'd.

Don't nerf their damage, no one would use a long range low damage blaster because at the greater range your aiming margin of error increases so a pray and spray long range weapon is not too viable.

Because turrets will require ammunition in the future, turrets will be allowed the buff they need to compete with handheld weapons. As it is AR's beat 20GJ blasters hands down, 20GJ Missiles are viable but they have "Wonky" moments, and 20GJ Railguns have been creeping in the trash can since this game pretty much started.
Also note that I am more concerned on 20GJ over 80GJ because those are the turrets that are applicable to me and Condor Squad. Right now 80GJ work, but 20 GJ are lagging behind.
Also your ideas do not incorporate heat. |
