When I see groups of proto users in pubs, I always say hello with a FG. My getup I use for that is 5,450 ISK a suit. I make 300-400+ for using it, depending on how mentally challenged the proto users are. (They are often pretty damn dumb, causing me to think of Call of Duty stupid, so it makes my job a lot easier.)
Hey, if you're going to crutch, might as well put more money in my pocket.
It's regrettable that newcomers do not share my mentality. This game will rot if we are unable to retain any new players. I pity proto users. It must be nice being subpar and having to use such gear against militia/standards. Kind of makes me think of the bullies at a playground, sobbing inside because they cannot cope in another way other than trying to afflict others.

Everyone needs to remember they also will have proto one day so any changes they are asking for will affect them in the future and for a longer time than being without it.
Also if you can afford it why use anything else?
I bolded a key sentence. You may think I'm going to ridicule or try to argue with it- I won't. It's true. It's been true for a while now, since before even Uprising.
This is not directed to you, but I'm putting it here anyways.
Suits, themselves, are extremely little in varying stat-wise. What causes them to be hated so much though? The power. Not the power of the suit. Suits are worthless. Slots. CPU. PG. With an increase of these three things, you can equip more modules. Modules are power. More modules, more power. Three complex damage mods will always crush out anything less, for example. So far, this is natural climbing of power.
Here's the problem.
People are running three high end damage modifiers with a weapon that does 37.4 damage per bullet at base against people that, if lucky, have at least two damage modifiers and a weapon that does 34 or 35.7 damage per bullet. I'm, of course, am using ARs as the weapon of example here. They all shoot at the same speed. They have the same range. Is the problem clear yet?
I have always spoken down to the usage of proto-type gear in public games, as I have done to tanks in Ambush. If you really need to crutch that hard against militia and standard users, people that have not even played a week, I pity you. You are filth. |

As to the bolded part why talk ****? If you can afford to why gimp yourself?
Why don't I use proto gear, you ask? I don't need it. I run through the field as equipped as someone from the Academy given a few days. The difference between the guys I'm rolling with and myself? I seriously cannot express this enough. Experience.
Short little story time. I used to be huge on UT back in the day, along with Quake.
To see people with proto gear trembling near corners causes me to think back to the people I met that sat there and tried to Flak Cannon people around corners. Cowards. Every single little **** I've ran across in public matches hides when using their proto gear. Every single one. I have been in Dust since Beta and the most rotten problem of this game is the players, not the damn game. It's sickening.
I do not say rush in blindly, but tucking your tail between your legs is not the answer either. I've seen so many people push forward while a single guy hides in the back trying to pick wounded people off that killed comrades that were so determined to push up.
Why don't I run proto gear? Standard is just fine. Just takes an extra bullet or to.
Those that fell in the dirt face down while fighting the good fight, pushing the lines forward are truly the better players.
Added note: Again, this is all not aimed directly to you (though this sentence itself is just a clarification I'd like to put in order to avoid confusion). |

I can use proto Forge with proficiency 3, proto AR with proficiency 4 (had that ****** since Uprising started, still only ever use 'Dren' on my logibro getup), along with prototype repair tool and nanites, topped with a few cores at five. I have been here for a long time. I have ran shotgun scouts when Uprising started, I have ran nova kniving heavies throughout 1.3. And that's all only on this character. To this day, I still logibro. I have amassed officer and prototype gear.
Kiddo, I don't want to hear your ****. I have been playing as a friendly bluedot for a long, long time here. There's more to a FPS than killing, especially one that was intended to be squad strong.
Added note: I am stockpiling SP for that upcoming Minmitar heavy though. Something different than a slaver made suit. |

JL3Eleven wrote:I don't think you get it son. When people mention proto stomp they are referring to the suits not mods or weapons (unless duvall) (because again they don't know mods used..
P.S. I was here when your mother wiped your butt with leaves because charmin wasn't invented yet. son.
I don't know how long you've been here- I'm not even going to check your stats-, but proto-stomping involves prototype gear, not restricted to one item.
Also, you're mother is so fat, she sat on a Titan and it was lost forever. |

I've been here soooo long I can tell you why your back is humpbacked and why it takes a couple minutes for things to marinate.
That actually causes me to ask a few questions, completely off-topic but still kind of on-topic. I wonder who was the first guy to die in Dust 514 outside of testing. What were his words? What was used? Ahhh, I'll never know.
Here's to Dust 514, who's history turns to dust. |
