Don't get me wrong... but one of the dust forum rules explicitly requires to use proper language for each native sections. Will you loosen those rules a bit? Beside i appreciate you'v allowed Hero to post in his native language With a Sticky!

I tried to do the same (in MyDUST sub forum) but was reprimanded by forum users and was told to post in English by your support team... Hmm... Though i'v not intended to translate dev blogs or patch notes into Polish. Most Poles who use computers and all who play DUST, know english sufficiently enough to read with comprehension by themselves what CCP staff serves us from time to time

This spotlight is an insult to my language. CCP giving the thumbs up to one of the worst translations to portuguese is one of most unprofessional things CCP has ever done regarding this issue.

I completely share KatanaPT's opinion about the quality of the translation work, although my position toward all this has been mostly of indifference, not revolt even though i recognize that position to be perfectly valid.

Answering directly to Needless Sacermendor, what you don't understand is that the issues here aren't some handful of grammar errors or typos in a dev blog. If i were to proof read and assist D Legendary in his translations, i would scrap the whole thing and start over.

Do you understand how bad the issues are? They're structural and caused by a poor grasp of the language, not due to basic errors.

You're an insult to the world we live in. CCP butchers my language with almost every devblog they release (I'm English by the way) that one in particular has at least 4 errors in it, but you don't see people complaining about that.

If you could have done it better why didn't you step up and make the translations for your fellow country'person' gamers, why didn't you get in contact with D Legend and offer your services to proof read and assist with his work, why did you just come complaining on the forums ? ohh that's right, you're just a troll !

Im sorry but it is you who have no idea what you are talking about, this isnt a personal attack on D Legendary but on the way CCP is promoting an insult to my language, the point is not that i could do better, which i could, but that i shoulnd't need to nor i should offer my services. The thing is that you assume the translations are well done, but they arent, cant you grasp that concept? You correcting a post i made and saying it has 4 errors in it has nothing to do with this subject. Because this isnt about words mispelled or anything remotely close to the way i freely write in english, but the whole grammar and sentences do not make any sense. If you aren't portuguese you should never even comment in this situation because you are an outsider to this whole mess. I agree and i have said i admire D Legendary, BUT everything he wrote should had been proof read by a professional translator which i can bet CCP got for all the other languages. I am not a troll, i am just pissed at how my language has been butchered over and over again. I will continue to petition this subject until it is resolved, even if i am banned from the forums or hated and badgered by some foreigner who has no clue why i am pissed at this.
As you said correctly, when someone does a good fitting tool, or does a good PC tracker, that person should be praised, BUT this is a completely diferent thing.
CCP should have waited on this, thats why im pissed at CCP, they should have:
"this guy is stepping up to do a translation to portuguese--->gets that translation---> sents it to a professional translator to proof read---> translator sends their feedback and delivers the text in a perfect portuguese"
And lastly, the translator should be a native speaker of the language, and not rely on google translate and other online tools.

I don't assume the translations are well done ... I have no idea, don't really care and I even said so in my other post.

I didn't correct anything about your post and never said it had 4 errors ... I said the devblog butchered the English language and had 4 errors.

Are you going to pay for his work to be proof read ? are you or your wife going to proof read it for him ? CCP have said in the devblog they're not in a position to provide a proper portuguese or other language translations at the moment since they don't have inhouse speakers and can't justify spending money yet on translations they can't do inhouse.

CCP didn't get a professional proof reader for their English devblogs etc. never mind the other languages ! ... bear in mind English isn't the native language in Iceland.

There's nothing different about someone stepping up and putting their own time into providing a service to the community ... whether it's a fitting tool or a translation into another language ... however bad it may be ... Edit : Also have you seen those fitting tools and trackers ... there's nothing "good" about them, they are however better than anything else available at the moment since 'they work' ... the fitting tool is just a spreadsheet with formulas and (to be honest) some horrible colours highlighting fields ... I could have done a better job but I'm not all over his Community Spotlight or forum threads saying how bad it is, I'm just glad he did it because I couldn't be bothered putting in the time ! /edit

This right here is a pretty darn ignorant comment. As someone who speaks a language, and is aware that there are other languages in the world, my opinion on this matter is exactly as valid as anyone else meeting these criteria.
