 Look up the navy CIWS.
 
 put a smaller version on vehicles to deal with hostile missiles. it shouldn't be perfect and it should have limited ammo, but stopping 2 missiles per volley (on average) should help immensely.
 
 Hell MWO ripped off the CIWS appearance wholecloth for the battlemech AMS.
 
 I expect CCP can do better with the appearance and implementation.

 Today we use chaff systems that interfere with the locking of av. Vehicles would need a lock on warning to know when to use it. Something similar would be nice.

 Actually, the reason swarm launchers shoot many missiles, is because it is to guarantee that at least a few of the missiles hit.

 +1 for countermeasures.
 
 It'd also goad people into speccing into real AV stuff instead of just relying on nades (i'm assuming you'd want this to work for nades too) or militia swarms.

 I'd also the ability to shoot down the swarms too. We got limited ammo now, so it's not like we're not giving up anything. Another thing I'd like to see is some kind of small turret that shoots defender missiles. Just saying.....

 Something like this would be interesting as an infantry deployable weapon. Set it up where it can take out all but one missile from an equivalent meta level swarm, then has to cool down for a few seconds. Points to the guy who deploys it for every enemy missile shot down.
 
 Would help encourage infantry and vehicles to work together, something that doesn't happen much now.

 Active hi-module that destroys incoming missiles and proximity explosives. As you level up you can destroy projectiles more quickly.

 I was thinking something more along the lines of flares that have a Predetermined chance to cause swarms to miss like for example you would have the lock on alarm then the flares or Electro magnetic pulse throws off interference that would cause the swarms to have a chance to explode before they reach you It would be an active module with a 5 second pulse interval two pulses and a 15 second cooldown with a 10% chance at basic 15% chance at adv. And 20% chance per swarm missle to disarm/detonate a single swarm missle before it reaches you I mean it is obvious we are lacking some form/any form of counter measures besides resistance. I don't know though I mean it is a thought though and of course it would take a High module slot.

 An even better example than a CIWS (though admittedly less well known) would be the Israeli Trophy system. From Wiki:
 
 "Trophy...is a military active protection system (APS) for vehicles. It intercepts and destroys incoming missiles and rockets with a shotgun-like blast....Its principal purpose is to supplement the armor of light and heavy armored fighting vehicles."

 I am a full skilled tank buster, using the swarm and I like the idea!
 
 As long as ppl have to sacrifies one (or more) slots by equiping a module for that feature.
 
 But the balance need to be hold. Just some input from my side:
 * As fully skilled Swarm I am pretty unable to kill a fully skilled tank if he is not mad enough to stay on the plain.
 * I am unable to kill dropships because my missles are far to slow.
 * I sacrifies my light weapon slot for a weapon which cannot harm infantry. And secondary is not same level as AR.
 
 So when something like that comes:
 Swarms need to be adjusted too. Otherwise they would be pointless.

 there is a swarm stopper for dropships in game already, the afterburner.
 
 and all other vehicles have a simple tool they can use to stop swarms, absorb them with EHP while you get behind cover. if you dont know how to tank fit your LLAV or tank to survive 6 hits then you are doing it wrong.
