back than it was too strong in the wrong hands *cough* proto medium suits *cough* who abused it horrible since their old toy the TAC got nerfed....
nowadays everything kills extremly fast (AR's, HMG's, Forges and so on...) and i can kill (or finish) everything faster with my other sidearms, even a basic breach pistol, than with a proto flaylock.
last builts its high alpha damage was a problem due the crappy hit detection of non explosive weapons or the crappy hit detection in general, but now even a militia AR puts the old guns to shame...
i havn't seen a kill in the killfeed with a flaylock pistol this built and i nevercame across someone using it...
but to balance it make it only equipable once and give its old stats back....
or
make special racial weapons... like every race gets a special weapon which can only used by a suit of that race (and/or gets unlocked by the lvl of the suit) so there would be another Flaylock-Type with old stats back and would only be usable for minmatars.....

My alt uses a flaylock. But my main (GåÉ) is taking up my time I love the Miss P***. you just gotta know how to use it. I cant comment on the blast damage as I havn't got to proto yet but I don't shoot and pray, I aim and hit. Their power is ok but with the armour buff it is much harder to bring tanked suits down but then again it does a surprising amount of damage to tanks in the right hands which the other sidearms can't really boast about.
You can't limit ppls choice of weapons (in terms of race, Heavy is different) in a sandbox game like this |

i don't limit anything, since there would be a normal weapon path and a racial weapon path (but only for one weapon).... at the time it takes to take down a guy with a flaylock (aim and not pray n' spray) my assault smg has already killed the guy .... and the scambler pistol too... and when the enemy slightly moves your slow flying rocket will miss him :/ |

But then again I think CCP are adding suit-gun bonuses down the line so maybe then it'll work better In the meantime I'm ok with how it works |

which sidearms do you have at proto lvl? how many ppl do you kill with your Flaylock? how many of them are protos and how many of them are std/ adv? |

What's wrong with the FLP? It's a sidearm, not a primary. It works great imo. |

From the looks of it CCP is designing the pistols to be hyper lethal when used proper. Flaylocks are still quite deadly with direct hits. Similar to how scrambler pistols get massive headshot damage and lets not get me started on the other two pistols. |

i got proto flaylock and while it was a little op, its now just pants, scrambler and smg are much better even while they at adv lvl's
flaylock should have took a dmg "or" radius nerf, but not both, but whatever, smg is a beast and im content with that now |

Edit - I don't really see how your question is relevant as it also depends on the team I run with as well |

Really, bringing back the old version would bring back all the QQ with it. The Flaylock is fine as it is now, it was not meant to be a comparison to the Mass Driver. |

I would give a slight increase to splash radius (.25?) So std would be 1.25m Adv would be 1.5m Proto would be 1.75 Just that though |

flay lock is a budget weapons, it has really low cpu and pg, that's it's advantage, it may be worse at killing then a submachine gun, which is like saying a bike is slower then a car btw, regrdless you equip it on budget suits that need that cpu and pg. |

Toxin SMG was my preferred sidearm, and is better in cqc clusfterfk, especially for minnie(love that 100 round clip) but the Flaylok has nice flexibility.
It's a good cheap-shot splash finisher, allows you to make use of walls as well as ground for splash.
It an average-strong direct hit aimed weapon, with intermediate range and with no dispersion or falloff.
It's an ok suppression weapon.
It is the best AV sidearm in the game.
It has a decent sized clip.
It has low fitting requirements.
I've got the skills for proto but only run advanced, which seems to do the job just fine. Plus can't afford the proto for pubs.
Only thing that bothers me is the sneaking suspicion that when you're using it for cheap-shot splash damage it's a particularly lag-susceptible weapon. I also find myself wondering if the explosion damage falloff profile is sharper than the Mass Driver's or grenades. |

no. i went two months in hell against flaylocks. you must be on acid. i got the basic and i use it with the scrambler rifle so im pretty sure others use it too besides me. i like it how it is. |

Enough with the complaining about from all the people who were foolish enough to spend a million sp on the flaylock skills. The thing was a SIDEARM and was out-killing officer weapons. The thing cost no PG and could fit on any tanked out suit with ease, not to mention it's low ISK price. If you want to noob-tube then wipe the dust off CoD, the flaylock is balanced now. |

I'm enjoying it actually. I'm gonna full on spec into after they announced what will be in 1.5
If they have a hybrid sidearm I'll use that, if not, full on flaylock. |

Sidearm proficiency is worth every point of SP. I don't want to say how much I enjoy some of the other sidearms for fear of the nerf mob, but the poor Flaylock should be restored to it's original potency. |

It's still a good SIDEARM, and compliments my shotgun well. I can't wait to throw points into because with the fitting bonus you can get 40 less cpu usage with max skills. |

i tested a bit with the flaylock the last days and i killed more ppl with my basic breach pistol than with a proto flaylock. well its good against scrubs, but not against good players. as it is now the other sidearms are much better than the flaylock... well but most of you AR ezmode users dont need a sidearm much often, eh :P? So AR is on top again and surely you want it to stay there.
