Master Jaraiya wrote:I really love DUST 514. It is honestly a great game, even with its few bugs and what not. I have been getting more and more intrigued by New Eden in general. I went out and picked up Templar One, which I'm about to start reading presently. I started a 14 day trial just to see what all this EVE hype was about. I'm not a PC gamer per se, so I went and looked up the system requirements. Turns out my lil ol' Mac Book Unibody is sufficient to run it. So, I'm currently downloading the client. CCP, you have made a fanboy out of me! I guess, with my love for RPG gaming, it wasn't that difficult to reel me in though! Next step, begin working on the neckbeard So, does anybody have any pointers for an EVE noob? Let the trolling begin! Dude where you set up. I have a lesson that was passed on to me by my mentor, that I feel I should pass on to you. |

Something is telling me this would be a very hard earned lesson! Lol, let the scams begin. In the meantime I have a contract you can fulfill with a freighter way out in null sec. Also, I have a few contracts in Jita to fill when you get there. Lol. Not a scam, those are all to easy to see through |

Something is telling me this would be a very hard earned lesson! Hes just gonna blow you up, the lesson has been spouted on these forums hundreds of times, and E-uni will pound it into your head, don't use what you cant afford to lose. Stuff in EVE would send these little pansies in DUST running home to mama. You think redline sniping is bad or unfair? Just sniped by a Tornado at Amarr for 4000 Alpha..... |

Just so you know, as buddy offers go this is a pretty terrible one. The PLEX that you get normally goes for upwards of 500 mil, and traditionally at least 20% of this goes to the new player - IE, at least 100 mil. Also, take your time finding a corp. Think about what you want to do a bit before joining one - the exception possibly being new player corps like EVE University - as joining the right group of people is quite important. You probably know this from Dust. oh yer totally forgot about the plex reward, i guess im paying for ur first month after ur trial runs out aswell https://secure.eveonline.com/trial/?invc=cf203696-4d5d-455f-9021-04077a116b87&action=buddy
there's a link for a 21 day trial if anyone else wants in, we'll work something out individually for the plex rewards. the 30 mil is wat my corp pays for a recruit, meaning if u want to be a full time recruiter you can make a pretty sweet living but thats not my thing, i just wana help some new players have some fun. we are NEXUS FLEET, we own space, we pwn face, we replace your pvp ships, and help u earn mega isk, but most importantly we talk you down of the ledge and have friendly guidance counsellors to talk you through your greiving period following your first big loss. see yall soon :) That first big loss really hits you hard, especially when its 300+ million ISK....
Either way don't go expecting massive success in PvP, I that's your thing in the first month or two, build up your skills, get T2 all the way, and you can be on the lookout for miners, newbies, and just poorly fit ships to take down. |

That's why the Empress is so bad ass though.
She came back at a time when the Amarr were losing Faith in God, she brought us back, saved us from the Elder Fleet, she has mad issues that makes her character so much more interesting than most others, she has an evil presence inside her head that she fights against.
All in all I cannot think of a person in New Eden more interesting or worthy of following than her. |

Probably because she in incredibly charismatic.
Personally I am sworn to House Sarum, I could not turn against her if I wanted to. |

Its boring to be a standard Liberty Junkie like most people who play this game are, I prefer something a little bit more interesting. |

She actually plainly stated that she doesn't believe in god, or the faith to her mother. She is genetically engineered from her Amarr Ancestors, and artificially inseminated into her mother. She is under the mind control drugs administered by Falek Grange. She is completely under his control. Grange engineered her DNA, plotted to hide her from the True Amarr Heirs, until he could elevate her to Empress, then just before he did, he gave her the slaver drug. She is Empress in name only... Sounds cooler than
"I like Freedom" (Gallente)
and
"I was a slave and I like Freedom" (Minmatar) |

I'm 5 months in and it can be really addictively fun when you get fleet ops going, a bit heart pounding when you get hot dropped, and oh so satisfying when you make a kill. |

Unless he has great teachers and true vets really pointing him in the right direction for EVERYHING, 5 months ain't gonna make him jack **** in the eve universe and you know that's true. Even if by some miracle he does everything right , there are many systems to learn and master. In eve skills mean a lot more than they do in DUST. However good luck spacemarine guy, dont be put off by early setbacks and ALWAYS only run what you can afford to lose. EDIT - After thinking about this more, assuming he gets in with a good crowd and gets taught the tight knit ways of semi decent or better pvpers then yea he might make a few tears. Yup I happen to have a good crowd and in PC the majority of combat at the moment Minmatar vs Amarr is being done sub Cruiser, all modules for which I have to tech 2, which makes me competitive enough to fight in fleets and solo.
You can do a lot in 5 months, not enough to make you some godly player but enough that will make you passable enough to enter corporations. |

Is PC FW doing anything in EVE? Last I was playing FW was a red headed step child of craptacular proportions.
It helps one militia to capture systems more easily, but that is becoming an issue now since the match making for FW is possibly a litte screwy, Since contracts are nearly constantly generated in FW, the minmatar and amarr are generating contracts at the same time, though the Matari FW contracts are more focused in the few Amarr systems we have left and are all offensive, this makes taking districts back very difficult and not in keeping with the FW desire to pendulum swing. Since both sides are often reporting wins of relative frequency its just odd that we see this sort of result.
But yes it does help greatly. |

[Edit: The rest of you scamming bastards... above pplies to OP only ] Thanks for the offer, I will probably hit you up! I'm currently just learning the basics. I don't want to go too fast through the Tutorials and stuff, I'm afraid I might forget something important! LOL. Two question, what happens if my only ship is destroyed? I only have the first noob ship currently. Can my capsule get destroyed? What happens if it does? Yes, your capsule can be destroyed but in empire space anyone not at war with you would take a security hit. Of course that doesn't stop some of them. If your capsule gets destroyed, you will wake up inside the station where your clone is. Make sure your clone is up to date. So if you have 5m SP, you should get a clone that covers at least 5m SP. You'll have to pay for it. The tutorials aren't bad if you just start out. Try to upgrade to a frigate as fast as you can. 2 more tips: 1) Specialise! There are no respecs. Focus on basic support skills (engineering, etc.) and then specialise in one area first before branching out. 2) Find a good corporation. There is a recruitment forum on EVE's website. Being in a good corp makes life A LOT easier and the game more interesting. You can join corp PVP gangs even in smaller ships from the start So far, I have frigate to 3, and is training to 4 as per tutorial. I think I'm flying a low level frigate as well. It's the 1st ship you have to go get in the tutorial. I also put armor and shield in the que, but i think it only let me que armor, not sure. How many skills can you have qued at once. Does it depend on another skill or something like that? I think currently it will only let me have 1 skill in que.
A little over 24 hours worth of skills training in my experience, or Im a scrub who can barely train his skills after 5 months..... though you can stack any of the 14 day + skills one at a time. |

Big things slipping through a gate camp is a sign of a bad gate camp. However, it also helps when the big thing isn't a bad pilot as well, so +1. I've had noob moments and died to bad camps before. I just don't think they expected such a big prize, most panicked, those who fired made it scary as hell. |
