If they were adding any other new content in 1.5 (weapons/suits) I believe we would have heard about it by now.
But like I said, I wouldn't mind being surprised. Like, Amarr light frames...
New Weapons and Vehicle balances were pushed out of 1.5 tentatively into 1.6 but there is no guarantee that is going to happen or not. 1.6 already had a lot of work thrown into it and the weapons and vehicle changes coming in may have overinflated it. While there is no limits to patch sizes CCP does like keeping the patches smaller as its less to sort though in bug hunting as well as not keeping customers in download limbo.
So unless CCP says otherwise I don't expect features of 1.6 set in stone or guaranteed to be in. |

So unless CCP says otherwise I don't expect features of 1.6 set in stone or guaranteed to be in. Mixed message here. Are the weapon and vehicle balances being pushed to 1.7? OR is it just safe to assume that you guys are just a whole patch behind now? I.e 1.5 is now 1.6. 1.6 is now 1.7 etc. etc. etc.
1.6 is not locked yet is all what I am saying and that a simple push back that late into the previously locked patch can cause a logistical problem on delivery. Also when things get put back on the shelf or stove especially incomplete things as vehicles were not going to have many of the previous roles at first (repair and sensors where the first of two removed and not added back in if you read the dev post learly) the developers are likely going to do more work with it.
I'll try help out but here goes of a snapshot of how things are around in the studio
1.3 just launched to the customers, 1.4 is locking and going to QA, 1.5 is being actively worked on, and 1.6 is having overall design meetings on how its going to look. All in about the same week-ish. So you can imagine how pushing back a feature from one patch as large as vehicles 2.0 and weapons (they're considered large) due to the level of technical risks they introduce. Most of the work is not like other games where they simply can copy paste another gun reskin and get away with most of it. |

Aleksander Black wrote:Do you think that a FW revamp would count as content or core? Supposing they count it as Core than I'm happy because I'd rather have an engaging FW system, with specifics rewards, the option to pick your target district and team deploy, just to name a few things they could work upon, than getting even more weapons/suits in the next months.
Maybe they count game-modes as core too, that's why I'm asking and I'd rather have them first too. If you add too many weapons and suits at once be ready to spend some time after implementing doing balance and I believe we could still use some further work before getting there (team deployment for example), but indeed, not much. It's near now.
FW IMO is a 'Shell feature' it only affects a portion of the game and all of core will run through it.
Core is more along the lines of things that are essential everywhere, Aiming, graphics, optimization, communications and social interactions, interfacing, map generating, code support for new game mode types, ect. ect.
New guns are shell features, how guns handle, aim, shoot, and feel are more core like.
Think of every feature as a tree, the more roots that tree requires the less likely its a core item. Features that have massive number of branches are very core like. |
