This is better than expected, very pleased.
One thing I would like to suggest as far as the future of squads is a way for squad leaders on the same team to communicate without switching to team chat and a way to communicate with EVE players connected to the district. Off the top of my head, would it not work to simply use the P2T button as a sort of toggle between channels? Default you are in squad chat, push once you are in squad lead talk/EVE talk. Push again you are back in squad chat. |

That being said, I have been using the EVE-side fleet finder every single day since it was introduced. When guys type "x" in Alliance I can smugly ignore them. Now I can do the same with LFS. One of the changes that we couldn't get in and ready is that we would like players to be able to see squads from their own corporation and alliance even if they are full or deployed to a battle. This helps give players an idea as to how active their corporation/alliance is but also would allow you to join a squad while it's deployed and then just wait for them to finish the battle. So what's keeping you from actually joining a game in progress? I mean, we already notice that you can indeed join mid progress, so why not join a squad in their battle so long as there is room?
What would be even cooler further in the future is to pull up your star map and see all the battles going on, then zoom in on a district and see how many players on each side and the option to join a side if there is room. |

You can't work on core gameplay or content exclusively, they both need to keep coming. Problem is if all you work on is core gameplay then there's nothing unique about the actual game, you just have generic shooter. There's plenty of FPS games out there with great core gameplay, so why would anyone want to play a game that is still working on core gameplay when it doesn't offer anything that the other games don't?
And here's what I don't get, CCP says they're not intentionally holding back racial dropsuits and vehicles, but we already have heavies and lights and tanks and dropships. How would adding the other races' version break the core gameplay? What's so different about the Amarr and Minmatar vehicles that they have to wait for core gameplay to reach perfection while it's somehow ok for the Gallente and Caldari ones to be there now? Say what you want, but I've heard nothing to convince me that CCP isn't arbitrarily holding off all this content for one grand update in the future for marketing purposes. That's fine, but be honest with it.
The lack of racial variety in a game centered around four races really irks me. /rant
