A small portion of the dust community wants respecs, the rest of us know that this would be game breaking and would invailidate one of the major mechanics of the game (permanence of your decisions). Anyone who wants a respec clearly fails to understand that no skill in this game is totally worthless and that each skill will become much more usefull as items are added to the game and you fill in your skill tree more fully. Stop your QQing, it really annoys the majority of us. A 3x sp event wouldn't be bad but would simply boost the vets farther ahead of the new players once again decreasing your ability to compete farther. A 20 million sp player will make a point of capping out every week regardless of getting tripple sp or not. Events like this simply grow the gap between new players and vets more.

It's not really fair (especially when you put it right up in the thread's title), not really social, and to some folks here of certain nationalities, it can be downright against their political freedom. Certain countries like the US, and I suspect Iceland too, put a lot of value in honoring individual opinion... to the point that no one speaks for us without us first giving official permission for someone to... So PLEASE... (everybody?), let's go easy. I for one admired the respec opportunity that was given to us once or twice earlier. This game, like EVE, seems to be built on the stern reality of "you are responsible for every path you wrongly trust and every ISK you poorly invest (kind of like life)---no do-overs, only learned lessons". So I thought it VERY charitable for them to give respecs the first time. But to give a respec AGAIN (no matter what pitch we try to throw to make CCP think the "owe" it to us), may start to make the rest of us who -salvaged what we could from our mistakes, -saddled up and got out there to earn more SP, and -finally acheived our goals by enduring the extra time and SP grind ...feel sort of DIS-respec'ted. And their argument might be right: more "do-overs via respec" is unfair to those who overcame just by following the game's rules.

If I lose a tank, I'll usually just turn off Dust, which makes me mad, and play gtav which makes me happy. I'm not feeling a good drive to play more than one or two games a night, compared to me usual 10-20

And we all know how CCP can be with that nerfhammer sometimes. I don't have time to grind infinite amounts of SP when something becomes useless (like my complex ferroscale plates).

I mean people act like it is easy grinding out SP, but for a casual gamer like me it is not. 7.5 mi SP took me 4.5 months to obtain. 4.5 months is enough for me to want to play something else, so I need to grind another 4.5 months to get decent in dropsuits. And I had all the information on how to make a good choice. It seems to me CCP is very much catering to a very specific playerbase. I'm sorry but to have staying power, this game needs something like a respec at some point. Not everyone has 10 to 15+ million sp and have played since beta. Some don't spend hours of their day grinding out that SP to be halfway viable. Live with your choice, yet choice is something in very short supply. There is such potential here, with this game. CCP needs to open up more. I mean this is a FPS gameplay wise. Not they huge open universe that is EVE.

But no because you didn't work for your sp Try being on my shoes for one week playing with nothing but the Nova Knives and a scout suit with so many disadvantages back in the Codex build. Even today the nova knives are still underpowered (as in it's difficult to slash a moving target) and the scout suits still feel handicapped like hell with all the aim-assist going on. Did I ask for a respec then and now? No.
