The pants chafe your thighs like nothing else, if you run more than half a mile. The shoes have 0% arch support(do Caldari have flat feet?)! The gloves get hot as a Gallante flamethrower, get some nano heat circulatory on that!
You would think that all of the Caldari companies would promote competition and create more favorable consumer products. And don't give me that, "it keeps the price down" BS, I can get a Minmatar medium frame that allows me to do a split and with built in synthetic fur (with nano circulation), for the same freakin' price.

Step your game up Caldari! Caldari designs tend to be self-consciously utilitarian. Comfort is not so much a secondary or tertiary concern as a non-issue as long as the user's discomfort does not impact performance.
This is partly a reflection of traditional Caldari cultural values (the culture came of age on a snowball flecked with mud, trees, and toxic shrubbery) and partly a rejection of Gallentean cultural values (they tend to get obsessive about making everything ergonomic).
To place utility before comfort in your choice of gear is to display a high regard for practicality over ease: a high Caldari cultural value. As such, you could even consider its lack of frills a selling point when marketing to citizens of the State. |

I'd rather improve efficiency by making the suit easier to use and allowing people to utilize their natural ability to the fullest extent. Also, when your suit is comfortable, not enough that you are in a luxury resort of a suit but enough that you don't have to think about taking it off, you will be far more focused on your mission. Less distractions are always a welcome sight, especially among warriors.

Honestly, being a mercenary and a Caldari, it all depends on what situation works best. Do you want to snipe from a distance and be lathered in comfort? Rock a sniper rifle and Amarr medium suit. If you want a suit that's more tactical than your favorite piece of laungery, strap on that Caldari medium. Whatever works really.
I'm a "team player' you could say, so logistics is best for me, and I never enjoyed rushing in. So if I am to aid my squad mates at a mid-range distance behind them without dying incompetently at close range, I think I'll need to pack something with more of a trunk. Minmatar logistics works best. Honestly, the exosuit really lifts that weight off the shoulders, especially when your..kinda short and skinny- and the packback and slots really let me start that barbecue.
In conclusion, go with whatever works! Every suit works for a reason, neither one or the other works best. Also....whoever had their hands burnt because of their "Caldari" suit, I don't know where you're getting your suits, but they're clearly nothing more than some militia crap. |

I don't understand how a suit can somehow have so few plates and be so uncomfortable at the same time. When I heard how much it weighed and that it only had armor on the vital areas it seemed like it would feel like an Amarrian light frame, but boy was I wrong.
But then again the Amarrian scout is the most comfortable suit ever made so nothing can really compare. |

Because last I checked the Amarr assault frame is designed to bond directly, and rather painfully, into a Paladin's spine. That doesn't sound too comfortable to me.
Any maybe you should learn to carry a load fatboy. Not my fault you kakku can't squeeze your fat asses into a jumpsuit. I haven't used Caldari suits in combat for a long time, but I have to agree with Galm. As far as I know clones are designed to fit each of the dropsuit types, so problems of discomfort are usually related to how you bind with the suit, as is the case with the Amarr(that is usually quite painful when I use Amarr suits for the occasional LAV destruction).
And I have to give a nudge to Gallente scout suits too. They're designed to fit the user comfortably from all parts so no chafing happens, and the augmented joint servo motors makes yourself feel really agile while the adaptive camouflage and improved sensory systems give you great awareness of the surrounding battlefield, far superior to any other suit. They might be weak on defenses, but they make up for it with improved awareness, stealth and mobility. |

It hurts at first, but afterwards the enhanced interface with the suit makes it respond smoothly to your movements. besides, anyone here has just jumped into a clone already locked into the suit so all they've felt are the benefits.

What more could I want? some actual armor. I don't feel like being rendered helpless by a flux grenade.

I'll have you know that I ran 36 miles on Caldari Prime, through a freakin' toxic swamp, in an Amarr Assault suit, through the night. All I can tell you was that I felt like I had only ran 6 miles. Had I attempted to do the same feat in a Caldari Suit, I probably would have started bleeding from my toes. If the Caldari shoes aren't going to have sufficient cushioning, like the cloud floating effect of the Amarr, could they at least have a flexible sole, like the Minmatar? Also, the leggings need to be more flexible, it's like your fighting the pants every time if you try to do anything more than a fast march.

I've tried all the suits and while the servos are a bit slower on the Amarrian suit once you get past the whole 'It just drilled into my spine' thing it does really feel like it's just a part of you compared to the other suits.
Minmatar suits honestly are the runners up in comfort, I must admit. There isn't much to them but you can move like you wouldn't believe.
The Gallente suits are a bit better than the caldari, but I feel like I'm having to fight against it at times. Just goes to show you the usefulness of the of the neural interface, though. |

In terms of comfort, the Amarr can not deny. This is due to the symbiotic relationship between your body and the suit when it accesses your nervous system through your spine.
That said, I prefer the Minmatar medium because it is made of more flexible material. This is particularly important in the hands and feet, because it allows greater sensory input and better muffled noise. This is very important in clandestine work, my work. |

Hah. I laughed too loudly at that.
As for why the Caldari suits are so uncomfortable, it's likely because they were made by the lowest possible bidder. I mean, all the suits were made by the lowest possible bidder, but given their knack for mercantile matters it wouldn't half-surprise me if they were even cheaper than the others. |

Let me indoctrinate you my dear gamin. I will admit that the aforementioned suit was severely damaged externally due to friction between the various sets of sheath. Though, it was very minimal and only grazed the outer most coating. One could easily have said plates recoated. Also, the heat sinks were never in any peril. The swamp I ran through is in a high altitude plane, this coupled by the fact that my trek was through the night, means that I was in an extremely brisk environment. I even had ice forming on the back of my helmet.
On the note of my commercialized civil service post, I have since been elevated to the post of Outrider, a glorified sentinel for principal handlers.
I shall end this response with a query of philosophical proportions. Do any of us truly exist? If so, do we exist only to ourselves? Are we over watched by something else, someone else; others? |

If you would still say Caldari Suits are uncomfortable than you obviously have not received the recent upgrade. Body, and Suit... There is no difference. However this upgrade only worked with my Prototype suits, so I've stopped using anything less. |

I must confess, that I believe Caldari suits to be more aesthetically pleasing than Gallante suits. It is ironic though; supposedly the Gallante are thought to be the most advanced in terms of fashion. |

Alright. Had a technician hook me up with a body glove adapter kit for Caldari medium suits.
Now I can use a Gallante body glove instead of the Caldari one. Feels so good :D |

Matari workmanship tends to be utilitarian by necessity. Caldari workmanship tends to be utilitarian by preference. My interpretation has always been that the Caldari have always tried to be the most efficient through the use of the most advanced technology. While the Minmatar have always tried to be the most efficient through the use of the least amount of technology, While maintaining an advanced method of function.
I.E the reason that Caldari equipment freely uses microchips in an attempt to improve the device easily. They make the best use of the newest technology. This includes trying to use electronics to circumvent mechanical parts, in every intense that is provided.
While the Minmatar refrain from using things like electronics, or even electricity. Minmatar suits and weapons still function even during EMP strikes. The Minmatar even use advanced time gears in priming their explosives. Doing the most, with the least possible. |

Granted, it helps and makes the suit a lot more responsive and gives a "walking on clouds" feeling. Though, it does not change the fact that it is a huge pain the instance it is applied.

I don't think Galm is the jealous type.... prone to violent fits of anger and brutality is more apt I feel.

Good conversation.
I reckon i've operated in in most types of dropsuits at one time or another and i pretty much use Caldari Assaulter kit now. I will grant you that the Gallente designs are really clean and actually cater go the operator a bit but i don't have any complaints about the long term wear comfort of Caldari suits.
Most folks that have problems with Caldari designs actually haven't had the suit fitted properly for you physical build and that cause most of the discomfort in prolonged use situations. It comes as a bit of a surprise to folks but Caldari dropsuits have more sizing options than any other model. Granted the Amarr suits are different since they are semi-custom.
Pro tip... Ishakone sizing tends to run very close to the fitting charts and can size up to work for bigger body types common to Thukker or even Brutor Minmatar stock. |
