RE's are one of those shinny diamond's sitting in the rough CCP hasn't touched.
They add tactic's and scenario's in this game and do nothing but add to it.....
I wish proximity mines where more viable in DUST versus infantry. (Hail to Goldeneye, Proximity mines in the Complex!)
Proto grenades and nanohive's don't make any sense..... Grenade ammo pools being part of every gun's ammo doesn't make sense... there should be a separate nanohive or ammo source for explosive equipment.

They require tactics and attention and can be countered by either attention or a flux grenade.
It's relatively balanced and adds depth to the game. I approve even when I get killed by them. |

Good equipment that really relies on the skill of the other player to use effectivly. Great way to get people to stop staring down their scopes and check their surroundings a bit. I say they are great. |

I used to run with them all the time until 1.4 when I was pretty much forced to use a scanner 100% of the time or be completely blind. I have tried them recently and they no longer drop next to spawn points like they used too. They kind of slide away a distance away and it makes them more obvious. Probably won't ever run with them again unless Scouts are given another equipment slot though. |

Unfortunately this is true, on top of the nerfs and the bugs the REs experience as a scout if I or another member of my squad is not actively running a scanner I'm absolutely boned, making my Proto REs extremely situational. |

I just wish blues who've dropped them on doors, letters, etc would actually pay attention and detonate them!
Been running into guys tossing them around like grenades a lot lately, too, which is simultaneously amusing and a little bit obnoxious because they're often so hard to see and don't have an indicator like grenades. |

I like REs,an don't mind when they kill me usually, but there are two problems with them. 1. They fall through the floor sometimes, and are invisible and unable to destroy without a flux if you manage to find them. 2. They can be set off when the user is bleeding out/dead( even from a charged scrambler rifle headshot). This acts like "Martyrdom" and everyone hated that because it negates the fact that you died first, and allows you to get free kill even though you lost the fight. |

+1 to you sir on 1.
My experience lately with remotes: Bleed out/able to be revived = able to detonate deployed remotes. Dead/double tap/not able to be revived by teammates nanotechnology/etc,etc= failure to detonate.

REs are pretty well balanced. A flux can easily take them out if not glitched but they keep red dots on their toes. I have started using them more and more at choke points rather than on letters.

Sorry to burst your bubble, on around July 30th of this year they got nerfed hard by slowing down deployment an ways to deploy, as running or jumping usually doesn't work the same. I'm a scout an since most of the weapons I use had poor hit detection I started using r/e like a grenade basically, running right through a room of 8 reds an hitting the button once I got out the other door killing 8 dudes at once, after about 2 weeks of mastering this an trapping by playing chicken, a lot of winning came on the forums then over night they got ninja nerfed.
Not everyone noticed so they never got put back to how they were an I presume that's why they slide now too. |

Run on my Amarr Logistics fit and I love using them. I occasionally get multiple kills a games and can destroy turret instillation's with three remotes. However I find it annoying that if placed on certain objectives it moves by itself or disappear on flat surfaces. +1 remotes -1 proxies. Mad cuz I don't get many cheap kill lulz out of them |

Not too much of an issue. I find the tactic of dropping REs at your own feet in the middle of a CQC gunfight and detonating for a kill as you jump out of the way to be ... ... "unrealistic" and awkward in sort of the same way bunny hopping and strafing in the open to avoid fire awkwardly yanks you out of immersion and reminds you "yep, video game". But not a huge issue and so few use it effectively that if they have fun with it, w/e. |

Because martyrdom RE tactic doesn't work in dust.
REs refuse to either: - set properly (and fizzle away) - won't take the detonation command (long activation time combined with seemingly inconsistent activation delay) - Sometimes won't kill anyone standing next to them and as a bonus - currently anyone running into AR pack is dead within few steps |

The first can be fixed but it is a bother. You need to give feedback on the map and let the map team know where the problem occurred. It would help if we had a socket map as well but that has yet to materialize.
For the second I have never done that. I did get +50 Kill while in the respawn screen. Probably some Red shot it a little too close, but it was laugh inducing. |
