There are some current balancing issues and matchmaking problems but the mechanics themselves are alright. Matchmaking was still non-existent in chromosome and balance was all over the place. The aim was alright but we had frame rate issues and even more dc problems than ever. I can't honestly say id rather have anything from chromosome instead of simply fixing/iteratingon what we have now. |

DootDoot:
You still get stuck on textures all over? The aiming system is still glitchy for all peripheral's if you turn off their AA band-aid that didn't fix anything...
AA needs some tweaking but it's laggy hitboxes and poor hit detection that are the real problem and that was still the case back in Chromosome.
The matchmaking mechanics are worse then ever.... complicated solution for a simple answer...
Matchmaking is currently poor but is not actually any worse than Chromosome, where protostomps and unfilled matches were pretty common.
Squad mechanics make you DC endlessly...
This has been fixed.
PC and tourny matches are as laggy, with as many memory leaks, and have 1-2 FPS turn outs more then not...
There were no PC or tourny matches in Chromosome. All we had was 8 vs 8 corp contracts.
The Logi armor repairing mechanics and system got changed for even worse....
The removal of health bars has been acknowledged as an issue and is planned to be fixed. For all other players, the UI is much less cluttered without them all constantly being on view.
The needle system HAS never been fixed since chrom when it was at its best...
You mean when if someone's body moved from the point that they were killed, you had to search around for where they died to be able to revive them?
Other then a broken Viziam on headshot glitch with laser... that was really the only major balance issue.... Now? omg....
Lasers were ridiculous in Chromosome, not just on headshots. There have always been multitudes of balancing issues in this game. ALWAYS.
Hit detection is WAY more lagged.. way slower to register... way less crisp... way less predictable...
Lag was pretty prominent in Chromosome but the reason we have these issues in Uprising is likely connected to the greatly improved graphics. I'd rather they work on improving the hit detection than revert to worse graphics.
The running and speed mechanics have been slowed down EVEN more.....
I too dislike this but that's simply a case of tweaking numbers and scouts in particular are being looked at.
Literally they left everything broken with the game and proceeded to fix the stuff that worked....
Better graphics, better maps, bigger maps, 16 vs 16 corp battles, 6 man squads, more suits, more weapons, more vehicles, more equipment, less laggy (remember teleporting enemies?).
Like I said - I'd much rather see CCP fix/iterate on everything we've got now than take any steps back to the way anything used to be.
There is a hell of a lot that has been improved in Uprising and if you were really to go and play Chromosome right now, you'd see them all. Try youtubing some of the old open beta Dust vids and you'll get an idea. |

Here is a good vid for showing just a handful of things that were wrong with Chromosome: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1vEETvCwx0 Note the occasional getting stuck on walls/rails and absolute lack of recoil on the AR even with constant fire at 100m.
As for DootDoot's Chromosome vid example - note the same with the AR but also that the match is obviously a horrendous example of matchmaking.
Also, in any Chromosome vid, check out how horribly bland everything looks. The colours and textures are just plain dull. |

Black screen's, stuck on loading, stuck on victory... 1-2 FPS... the amount of restarting the ps3 hasn't changed... And the squad DC's actually would make my playstation OS hard freeze after quiting out of dust.. It hasn't improved..... you can say stay the same at best... or create new problems after they fixed the old one. Sounds like you've got many more problems a lot more than many of the rest of us. Maybe your PS3 is dying. Or your internet is bad. I've not had any squad problems for days and lag is pretty much no existent for me - maybe try defragging; it helped me a lot. |

lol first one is about DCs that happened mainly 'overnight' and 'after downtime'. Second one had it's last post 4 days ago. Nice try.
But we're getting away from the point - Uprising is hardly less stable than Chromosome; it's still unstable but no more than before.
And all the things you've quoted as worse since Chromosome are either being worked on as known issues or aren't actually any worse (i.e. sticking to terrain/structures just to name one). |

And why Chromosome was played so heavily for a virtually unknown title in the console world not even launched. it's gameplay. I present to you another chromosome vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1vEETvCwx0
Bugs, glitches and terrible visuals galore.
Please list one thing that is not being worked on and actually worse than Chromosome. |

There is just as much in uprising lol.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKsgVvyNM3sAnd HE CAN STILL AIM IN YOUR VIDEO EVEN WITH THE LAG AND FREEZES Not to mention That hill he's getting stuck on hasn't change.... you still get stuck exactly the same but now you will get stuck longer where you can't get out until you stop sliding... before you could just jump out of that... Ha! Another massive fail - that uprising vid is from July! That was 1.2! |

I can link you the aim assist one where it tracks moving targets with no input? but those have been done to death... even the one i did on blown up hit boxes... There are a few - you just can't find any that show 1.4 in a worse light than Chromosome. Gimbles and Pyrex are just two still doing them.
As for the aim thing - CCP knows there are issues around it and they're working on it. |

Face it - the entire argument to revert back to chromosome rests upon aiming and that's something that CCP continue to work on. CCP knows AA is too strong. They are also aware of laggy hitboxes and hit detection. |

They are also aware of laggy hitboxes and hit detection. Face it you didn't play chromosome much and don't understand there was a massive gameplay difference that makes uprising feel boring slow and repetitive and offer's no more glitch fixes... Only bigger problems to core game mechanics then they had. Cars still drive through the floor's... grenades still drop through floors... You still get stuck on hills but now u get stuck on everything else... This is why the game's populace is thinning out... gameplay... AA is just a very small part and a needle at the end of a stack already piled up on the camel's back. That's why they have CPM's and went on a damage control campaign... You have no idea how much feedback was given leading up to Uprising, then when that disappointment was released, people realized CCP listened to no one. That's why there was a mandate for them to respond more on the forums. The argument that content from uprising has magically fixed them breaking the "aiming" part of the shooter and putting uprising 1.0,1.1,1.2,1.3 and now a 1.4 band aid over the still terrible aiming system doesn't help. Hit detection should register a bullet hitting the merc's baby finger to it's left butt cheek... it doesn't they did HD lazy... that's why there is no recorded accuracy or hit box stat's for your merc.
You clearly have no idea who you're talking to. Look at those likes - I've been here posting for over a year. For the entire open beta and most of closed beta I was unemployed, so played Dust constantly. I never missed a week's cap once.
Don't try to misrepresent me - the game is far from perfect. But having seen several major updates over the past year, I remember how people cried for a revert back to replication when Codex came, to Codex when Chromosome came and now the exact same here with Uprising. This is not new and we will see the same happen when 2.0 comes too.
There's a lot to be done but it's being done, bit by bit. Slower than I would have hoped but it is. The problem is that's it's happening too slow for most and that is why the player base isn't growing. With big new games like GTA out now, we've lost players left right and center and PS4 will be a big hit to us too. I disagree with some of the direction that has been taken and recently have been increasingly vocal about that but I refuse to sit here while people try to say that the game was better 9 months ago when that is just nonsense.
