They should go off of the color of standard ammo used in EVE.
For instance, standard crystals (Amarr ammo) are yellow. Thus have Amarr weapons fire yellow. Follow suit for the other races. |

Personally, I'd love to see Violet as the color of the Scrambler Rifle, as that is one of the higher-damage colors used for lasers in EVE, and the Blue-Green color of the Laser Rifle beam would suggest better range performance, which I still hope that weapon eventually has.
