I ask assaults... Do you/what u put in eq slot? I personaly have never used eq slot in assault. Just never had egnouth PG. But now im thinking about compact nanohive or reviver. I can fit one of those or sacrafisce comp shield extender in one fit to eqiup uplink/k2 nano. Well what do you think/do? Or i can spec into logi. Have sp for that and adv eq. It may be good. Ill be more flexible. |

Do you have everything maxd out? Armor? Shield? Dmg modifiers?
If you feel pretty good with core upgrades snd weapon upgrades You should look at a scanner for your eq slot. |

Whats your suit? Playstyle? Are you a solo runner?
If you work in a team, does anyone else bring a nanite injectors? Do you feel helpless when a guy gets dropped in front of you or are you aggressive laying down hellfire? Are you support or are you a frontline assault?
Personally if you're a solo assault just like most infantry, then you're gonna want something that can support yourself like a nanohive. If you run in a strong team group then you might want to consider nanite injector assume you have someone on your team who has nanohives and repair gun covered. Dont limit yourself to one suit and one playstyle, you can make several variations of the same suit and try out all of them in battle to see what feels right to you.
If you like reviving, repairing, and resupply, then I suggest Logi.
As for why you have to give up a complex shield ext for a nanohive, you might want to post your current suit build. If you're fitting a STD suit with proto gear, you're gonna have a hard time. |

Scanning or hives then.. Since your core is so low just run milita grade items until you can fit the better stuff. I'm assuming your running caldari or minmitar with shields. Your base armor should still be high you will need all the hp you can get.
Get those shields to complex! Forget specs into equipment for now. |

Just to put it in perspective.. I'm a proto logi and I run an advance scanner with basic hives, links, report and injector. Your focus for now should be survivability and dmg, milita or standard equipment until you have the core, armor, shields and weapon take care of. |

Mostly im solo runner. Mostly time i play with my mates that are adv, proto logis. Love that hey drop 12uplinks and 12nanos in few seconds. Then i dont need rev. I play as adv caldari. Using gek, comp shield extender, cpu upgrade, locus, submachine and plate. (With mates i can focus more on shooting) Gonna upgrade eng for 4 to have 50pg. |

I hate to say it but I really don't like getting picked up. Often it means that I get revived in the middle of a fire fight and just get shot again, also most people only use the militia injector which sucks. Unless you're getting a better injector than the militia one don't bother with it. |

One dropsuitt carries nanohives. I was experimenting with it before 1.4 but in the post I actively use scanners. So if it isn't nanohives, it needs to be scanners IMO. Nanite injectors...eh. No offense to the member saying he has that in the slot but IMO the nanite injector is practically useless without the repair tool. They go hand in hand. |

Well in some way yes. I kill guys pretty fast. But you know ar ammo runs down fast. Even faster at laser. I backdoor enemys and i cant resupply ammo from mates. (Will eqiup compact nano. I relly need grenades, they telling if you will win or die) |

I never have a suit without at least a K-2 nanohive (unless I am a heavy). On my main I run proto hives because I can carry 4 and have 3 active at once while only taking up one slot.
I am mainly a solo player, and having to rely on the blueberries to give me ammo is way too unpredictable. Most of the time I don't run hives, I end up running around dry-firing my gun in hopes one of the moron blueberries notices and drops a hive. Which is why I try to never run without one. If I was running as an assault and had a squad (real squad, not just squadding up with randoms once in a match) then I would run a active scanner. |

Yeah man, I mean you will probably end up running different eq at different phases of the match, I.e. a uplink in the beginning, ammo next, Mabye a scanner if you are rolling solo.
As a assault though I'd be making sure I'm not putting a whole lot of SP the support stuff,
Curious as to why you didn't spec into armor at all? Feroscale or Reactive? If your running solo how is your profile dampening? |

Armor for assault? I dont need it much. 2% to movment isnt high. Ferro needs more cpu/pg. Profile damp maybe will upgrade after other things. But will it give much? With only skill can i run from adv scanner? (proto catch all) |

Well I'd be looking at all the hp I could get if I'm running on the frontlines I guess it depends on your slot config.
You will need a dampener module plus lvl 5 dampening to go undetected with a adv scanner and you will need a scout suit, lvl5 dampening and a dampener to possibly evade proto scanner.
Not to many people running proto scanners right now. Dampening will increase your survivability if you are sneaky, especially considering your running solo.
To awnser your original question, I'd say hives is your best eq choice for now. |

I personally use the ADV one that holds scan results for 16 seconds. It's resolution is 36 dB, so unless a scout or medium is running 1-2 complex (or enhanced) dampeners, they will get picked up. And heavies are pretty much screwed even if they are running dampeners. I find that most players don't use dampeners, at least not yet, and the ADV one works great the majority of the time.
Honestly there isn't much reason to go proto scanners, sure the one that holds scan results for 25 seconds is nice, but even with my logi suit I can trump every scanner in the game, except the one that goes down to 15dB, with only 2 enhanced dampeners. So if a player is determined to use dampeners you won't pick them up unless you spec all the way into proto and use the, somewhat useless, 15dB scanner. Really the only time this is needed is when there is a heavily speced scout with proto dampeners.

I would advise against the injector unless you want to be hated. As an armour tanker, being picked up by a standard injector accompanied by no reps is often worse than death. From a WP perspective it's a bloody excellent idea though :P
Depending on your weapon's ammo consumption, you should consider a nanohive or a scanner. |
