Gallente Assault. Logi suits in general are very risky to skill into due to unpredictable changes in the future. If you want to support though go logi. |

I like some do not feel the bonus justifies going assault or logi but just sticking to basic, also the basic Proto Gallente reminds me of a really Bad A** batman. So that is why I am asking what would be the best course to go with knowing I have a proto Cal Logi. My opinion the Logi is the best to go with due to its 5 low and 3 high with HP repair bonus would make this a better assault than the current assault build. So what is your opinion on which is the better of the three to go with? Seeing as you went Proto Cal logi... It would be best you go assault to avoid anymore disappointment :) |

Not equipment vs KDR, or both vs Minmatar.
I feel like I'm going to have a stroke for all the stupid I see in these kinds of threads.
Well the OP is in my corp so before he dumps 2.4 mil SP into a new suit that won't perform any better than the one he's got I'll throw out my opinion.
And the best advise I can give to anybody is to not chose things by using a crystal ball to anticipate nerfs. That is as stupid as it gets in my opinion. |

How can one be disappointed in the calogi? This build killed speed tanking. I questioned people dual tanking a calogi when people were QQing about it.
Dual tanking a calogi is beast mode in this build. Nerfing the CPU suit gave it one purpose, beast mode assault suit. |

For competitive play, I would say logi offers far more versatility, being able to tank more than assault, get more fitting space and slots, more equipment slots so you can resupply, revive, and repair. With the reduced armor penalty, logis wont be as slow as a heavy.
For assault you have a bit more speed and base health with only one equipment slot which would probably end up either being revive or nanohive. A sidearm although I dont use it as much. If you need to reload, find cover, if you need a weapon to fall back on, use a grenade. A sidearm is useful but not necessary.
I am currently making the same choice. Heavily leaning towards logi simply because I can do more than an assault while retaining high kill ability with even more eHP and a built in complex rep.
Surprised that CCP cant even balance logi/assault right. Logis want high eHP since they're vulnerable despite the fact they're meant for support/backup and shouldnt be in enemy crosshairs. Most people fit their logi to be a heavily armored/shielded assault class with more equipment and no sidearm. If CCP wants to do a better job at seperating the classes, they need to do a better job at seperating what they can or cant use. |

Go assault. Cheaper to use SP/ISK wise, racial bonus wil be even better once we get hybrid sidearms, good at hybrid tanking and you get better overall stats. |
