So matchmaking initially gave us super long waits for matches, but the matches seemed to be pretty even for the most part (unless it was 4v16 or something ridiculous). So CCP fixed the wait times, but now the matches seem back to how they were before 1.4. I could be wrong, but from my experience, there isnGÇÖt really much matchmaking going on and there is a lot of player diversity skill-wise. |

This has been mentioned before, but there should be a squad only type of game, like if you're the squad leader, you can only deploy to this game type. Then people would stop complaining and maybe even have better matches. I know I would lol |

Matchmaking on Dust is a great concept. Just very poor execution. And that's solely because of gear. The only truly fair way to match people up is through SP/KDR/Gear.
A possible solution:
Add a function to public matches that can enable/disable proto gear for each mode. If you disable it, no one you play with on your team or theirs can access proto gear. If it's enabled, go protostomping.
As for corp matches, of course, fully allow proto gear. |

I wish it would at least start a game with the teams nearly even in numbers. I've lost count of how many games have started with something like 14 vs 3. |

Seems to me like we've just rolled back to the pre-1.4 matchmaking system? I don't see a noticeable difference between then and now, except that the battlefinder is even worse now. |

Its still very broken. Been broken since the day I stepped out of the training area, straight into a Prot-stomp. In one match the entire Red team had T4 weapons and Proto Armor, while the Blues were running around with Militia gear and weapons. Please CCP/Sony, attribute weapons, armor and skill points and time in game as their own point band (example, Proto = 5 points, Militia =1). Once those numbers have been established in a more even way, reduce the band of players within that hash. If you have fewer per match, that is alot more enjoyable than watching a bloodstained visor seconds after spawning multiple games in a row. Its gotten to the point I don't want to get out of militia gear in fear of not having anything to play with once I DO get enough skill points to wear better gear. |

i find it funny how you people think theres any match making at all, a match is ither auto generated by npc corps in instant que or by faction pilots in eve for the factional que, there is no match making its a case of theres a game ready in the que you want and you get put in it. |

Lol.
There are about 5 people who play dust.
There can't be matchmaking because there physically aren't enough players to balance the games. Deal with it two ways:
1) Get better 2) Leave

What I don't understand is why people like this try to be cute and s*** talk the game. I know, Dust is terrible, isn't it? Thank God those of us who loathe the game can take refuge in it's forums and post to our heart's content. It's so much more fun. |

It's really not working.
Just yesterday, I ended up in a match 10 to 1 and the 1 left. And we lost because some guy kept blowing up his own LAV on another teammate's tank. Several other matches were clearly outmatched - bunch of big corps dropping 3 tanks in an ambush on one side and one squad and some newbies on the other. |

The problem with matching all those things, KDR, WP, SP, and equipment is that over a players life his KDR is not reset at all, if he dies 5000 times in the first week he plays then figures out how to shoot his gun and starts getting a really positive KDR (4.0 or better) then he still needs to kill 20000 people without dying once to show his true KDR. WP totals can be accumulated though all the games they play and even though a player my get only 200WP per match, they may play 200,000 matches back to back to get 40,000,000WPs total. As for SP, Sp improperly spent will have a player of 20mil SP able to field 4 racial specialist Proto suits and nothing else. Equipment can vary from match to match according to opposition or a player's whims/needs so in all reality the matchmaker is basically just flipping a coin, does he deploy to match A or match B?
If we want the matchmaker to be a fair system where even battles occur then we should have it pick groups of people matched vs groups of people and singles+other singles vs singles+other singles. Nothing else should matter, and in all reality, my experience playing with and without squads says that the squad is the benefit, not the gear/SP/WP/KDR. A great way to improve matchmaking would be to change battle sizes to 60 vs 60 allowing 10 squads of 6 to deploy against 10 squads of 6. This allows for diversity, targets and a real chance to play in a massive battlefield, more in line with what I envisioned when I saw the E3 trailer of Dust. I believe that this option would only be a temporary solution to the matchmaking issue because in all reality I envision being able to deploy to the planet's surface to roam about hunting rogue drones or other mercs, to ambush a squad doing PVE or join my corporation, all 400+ of them on the surface of the planet in our district to fight off wave after wave of invaders hell bent on taking it. |
