I love how most of the community don't want to see Scouts as viable threats:
"They already are really tough though"
A: Chances are it was a mid frame, they move about as fast as a Scout, but if you had trouble killing him; it was not a Scout. No one has trouble killing Scouts.
"They are supposed to be used for blah blah"
A: Love how you tell us what Scouts should be used for. Why have options then. Just pre-load our Scout suit with what we are "supposed" to use.
"I do fine with my Scout, I use it for ...."
A: Yes but you don't use it for the whole time. You use it for one specific purpose, usually to speed hack something, then switch back out. For someone wanting to actually use a Scout all the time what then? I am only useful in 1/3 the match? In a game about killing, all classes must be able to kill, everything else it does it what makes it special. Hell a logi can kill, and bring folks to life, and run about the same speed all with the same fitting. Don't tell me what to do and that I am stuck using my Scout suit as simply a mobile scanner. Sounds like a great time. Well with a Scout your supposed to use a scanner and stay away from combat.....really? How fun is that. "Oh wow today I had this great game where I moved to one side of the field and put down this piece of equipment and just....waited around. Then I did it again!"
Fix the ******* Scouts already. Nerf the friggen AR's while your at it. This **** is soo friggen obvious to anyone who cares to look at it objectively. |

CCP, you guys can do better. Think assassination playstyle. Nova Blade can be a Light weapon because no one uses NKs as a sidearm. 16mil SP and I have to run like a ***** from a mlt suit with a mlt weapon. I get spotted easily, you can't avoid fire with speed, I'm sure you already know about the movement speed shenanigans. What are you intending for us to do? How do we play as scout role?! We need answers. Will we get a respec? What kind of buffs are you thinking about?
My gallente is sitting in a dark room by himself, just sitting there. Abandoned. Cobwebs are around him, heavy Dust (514) all over him. He has a sign that reads "Help". Maybe you're using it wrong. I have only enhanced gallente scout running complex shield extenders and a complex kinetic catalyzer and I do just fine with my militia shotgun. I think the problem with scout suits is with the community using them as fast assault suits with low health. You don't need invisibility to execute the assassination playstyle.
Yeah, scouts are fine until you get into real combat. I see from your corp that you most likely haven't seen any PC action. Go ahead and show us your positive K/D in PC in your Scout suit you badass you. FFS any true Scout will not sit there and honestly say they are fine as is...so your either not a true Scout, or haven't seen true combat. I'm not willing to call you a liar so I chose the latter.
Your complex extenders don't actually do anything since they are based on % and mean that it's not even one extra bullet from an AR, you would be better served by the rechargers that lower your max shield output.
1 complex kincat doesn't make you much faster, and only with sprinting, so you are fodder once someone sees you as you cannot "speed tank"
militia shotty is actually a smart move and I use it as well. Good luck getting kills on peeps in PC with 800-900EHP though. Gonna take you four point blank shots if they are perfectly placed, and you will not survive that long. So don't assume the Scout community is full of stupid folks that are "using them wrong" which is also a crap argument. We all came up the same way and I can almost guarantee every Scout has used your same setup in the same way at the same point during their progression. Get to the end game and then see how your fit stacks up. The Scout "role" gets harder as you progress there bud, both gear wise and because your tricks will no longer be as effective. |

I'm not sure about the others here, but I do not have an issue suiting up my Gallente Scout. The Scouts were not meant for the front lines. Doing otherwise is the same as a lone heavy out in the open. Terrible.
When using the Scout, use it as a team player role, not a pretend Assault. Flank, don't charge. Duck behind cover, don't jump over it. Stay out of sight. These are the things to go by when running Scout. In 1.3, they said the Shotgun Scout was terrible. I scoffed at them and did it anyways, running only standard or less. 10+ every Ambush. Every.
Something is off about the 1.4 shotgun, in my opinion. I feel as though it doesn't work as it did before. That sure as **** doesn't stop my own Scout from melee raping people.
They could do with a small increase in speed, not health. I don't think I've ever seen a scout asking for more HP - where have you possibly got that from? That's the last thing scouts care about. We know we're weak and will die the moment someone lands a couple of shots on us. What we want is for the things that make us scouty to actually make a difference to our survivability and to be able to fit our suits to a reasonable level instead of running out of CPU at 3/4 slots without even using a proto weapon!
Let's not forget that Scouts are the only class to be able to utilize flanking and hiding maneuvers. I mean when you equip the Scout suit you get this new option to flank and hide right.....
Sarcasm, laying it on pretty thick.... |
