So, I had figured out what I needed for CPU usage to equip my Gallente Scout gk.0 Dropsuit with the equipment modules needed to accomplish what I wanted to be able to do next in this game.
In particular, it was going for Lvl 5 in Dropsuit Electronics (5x) where you get "+5% bonus to dropsuit CPU output per level."
I already had boosted to DE level 2 and my stats said I was at 286 so I needed to get it up to 300. Well, I finally got the 217,650 SP needed to get to Level 3, and get the mod I wanted only to find I was missing "1" CPU point. I only got 299, not the 300 that a +5% added to the 286 (that I expected to get) , should have given to my stats. Simple math tells me that if you are at 286 and you add 5% to it, you should be getting 300.30.
I made no other changes, do it was nothing else that stole that "1" point.
So now I am wondering, if that calculation is off, what others are off as well. |

I presume you have Dropsuit core upgrades to 4 (+4% CPU).
250 * 1.04 * 1.15 = 299
Right... didn't you read? I said that I had my CPU up to 286 with everything. I wanted a mod, and needed it to be 300, I calculated out 5% for upgrading electronics from lvl 2 to lvl 3 which is suppose to give you 5% cpu upgrade for each level, so that should have brought me up to 300. |

His point is that the calculations are done on the base, so you can't multiply 5% and 286. Basically, your math isn't how that 5% is used.
My point is that they state that Dropsuit Electronics states that it gives a +5% bonus to CPU output per level. So to me, that means I am to add a +5% output bonus, whereas Dropsuit Core Upgrades implies that it is +1% from "Base" by saying maximum. Dropsuit Electronics does not say that! Thereby, by their description, you should add +5% to your CPU usage.
Apparently you and Garth have more knowledge into how they have put this together, while I was only going by their descriptions. So if you read their descriptions, why would I not believe that my calculations were correct? Dropsuit Electronics does not state that it is for CPU Mod's usage, or that it is from a maximum, (which would then change the calculations) just that you get a "+5% bonus to dropsuit CPU output per level." |
