Those of us who are a bit more civil understand that the development process is rough and considering that you guys have been doing rapid-fire updates for a few months now, it's sad to see a delay in the features when there is obviously a lot of working being done.
One of the biggest things that has the community downtrodden is the lack of the communication and considering that there was time taken to inform us of the features that have been delayed, as well as the fact that you're going to be receiving feedback on what features are coming, I'd say that there's been enormous steps taken to quell that.
Despite some of the more extremist players who resort to berating developers or CCP as a whole (I've even been guilty of this in the past) there is some good intentions buried in the immature behavior - we all want the same thing: Dust 514 to prosper and be the most invigorating, player-focused and most importantly: player-altered FPS experience available.
So, here's to CCP for making changes for the better. Communication is always a better option than being left in the dark. |

I think it's fine that they're pushing back vehicle things, since it apparently wasn't in a good place.
Generally I prefer to see rushed content with or without bugs, but when it comes to re-balancing large mechanics like vehicles vs AV (this is essentially game design more than a new 'feature') I'd rather it be done right at first.
Do look forward to reading about the current status of things and seeing what was really going on there with whatever problems they faced or decisions are still keeping things on hold. Next week they says, might write about it all. |

I was not there for the beginning of EVE. I have, however, spoken to those that have. It gives me hope, as does the next little segment of this post.
I believe Dust 514 will pick up. Keep in mind, everyone, that CCP has stepped into FPS with this game, not another EVE-like game. Consider this as "new territory". They are also attempting to do two things that has infuriated many on both sides of the first, and currently a number for the second. 1) Keyboard and mouse able to fight against controller, instead of a forced controller versus controller. 2) Integrate Dust 514, a shooter, with EVE, a game of a completely different... focus?... in such a way that it'll effect it (EVE). |

There's a lot of things you and I don't see behind the scenes with game development. A lot of the features I worked on with Atonement RPI were shelved and back-logged, despite being otherwise functional and complete, because it didn't make sense to introduce it at the time due to change in pace.
I'm sure they've made some extensive work on content like weapons, dropsuits and vehicles - with concept art and basic renders all over the place. Problem is, due to things like reviews and metacritic scores as well as the forum banter, their priorities shifted to have fully functioning, working content over broken innovations. We can see this just by how fast fixes were made with 1.4. An entire Domination map was broken and would not work as intended, yet was fixed within days.
They've made quite a bit of progress and I'm sure they're doing fantastic with what they have set for their priorities, we simply can't see it because anytime they comment on the forums there's an alphanumeric riot over all of their shortcomings with very little acknowledgement of what they've done correctly.
Imagine what devs like FoxFour, LogicLoop, Nullarbor and Wolfman -WANT- to show us but can't because it'll just cause another one of these outbursts whenever something happens to prevent it from coming out on time.
I for one am glad that they even bothered to tell us that the weapons/vehicle changes were being delayed as it's much better than waiting until we see the patch notes. |

Even more funny that you notice this - imagine how CCP feels considering they've been hearing it for months, lol.
I think CCP could use a pat on the back every so often. They get enough hate. I'd imagine working extra hours to make sure something is done correctly before a deadline is rough when the people you are doing it for are largely ungrateful over it. |

That would happen no matter what; whether it was released, pushed back, canceled and so on. There will always be complaints. There will always be individual expectations that are not met. I'd rather have a much more open relationship with developers and see what sort of potential concepts they are working on, even if it doesn't make it into the game, just to know what sort of innovative developers are working on the game. That's just me, though.
Players are always going to have their hopes up about something. Any person who has seriously gamed, especially within this medium (MMO/FPS/RPG), understands that the game is always going to be in a constant state of fluidity and change. However, in my eyes, it doesn't excuse poor development and implementation (i.e; not utilizing a play-test server that can host an X number of players at any given time, just to stress test the new mechanics). I'm not 'upset' but the need for fresh content is paramount right now.
Players need actual content they can skill into, otherwise they are going to be burnt out in a bad way. Enhancing features is nice but it's not quite the same; I find it amusing that they can roll out whole packs of AUR weapons/gear (yes, I know it's cosmetic) which tells me they know how important 'new' content is - important enough where players are going to be spending real life money on something 'new', even when its not. To me, this is them taking advantage of the lack of real, solid game content. |

Right, but if done incorrectly you could just have another Plasma Cannon on your hands. Or worse, another Flaylock Pistol.
Premature initiation of new content is never good, especially when a weapon seems like a hybrid of two that is worse than them in many ways, lacking a significant role or purpose in the game. The Plasma Cannon still suffers from this despite some measures being made to make it useful. I.E: Fixing the reload glitch and making the projectile much faster.
On the other hand it can also make a weapon more powerful than it needs to be, performing better than others in two or three shots and having room for error (splash radius).
The best way I can describe it is if it were on release day that the Combat Rifle superceded the Assault Rifle in terms of damage and range and made it a less favorable choice simply because it outperformed it. Just as well, the Rail Rifle under-performed because it did less damage than the Tactical Assault Rifle and had no zoom to make benefit of it's range.
It's much better simply to be patient and wait for the content to be ready while we get a few minor things to clean up the annoying imperfections like Corp Roles. |

I had fun! I'm pretty sure a large group of the forum community have a hard time understanding that, because the seem to be too busy thinking about "oh, but we don't have the Combat Rifle! Most people that are on the forums can't have fun because after all the negativity they are saturated in affects them.
Many of people i know have said they started having a lot more fun when they stopped checking in on the forums and focused on the actual game its self. |

I'm not a big EVE guy, but even I know that the game out of the box was utter sandbox with very little content. There are articles online going back ten years predicting EVE's death from lack of content. It was the player base creating their own fun that saved EVE and made it the success that it is today, not the developers. So I have to call BS whenever I read someone ranting about "all the features" Eve originally opened with. Like, lol what? Star wars Galaxies was doing bigger business than them at the time, and that game was sh*t. |

How are you having fun? Why are you giving CCP thanks? They have failed to fix major core mechanics such as AIMING. This game has been out for what, two years? How can they not get something as vital as aiming right? I'm not a programmer, but is it really THAT hard to get it right?
Is it not possible to give us more control over the sensitvity and acceleration? Why are we so limited, why?
I want to shotgun, but the slow aiming gets me killed and frustrated. It simply is not feasible nor fun to play for more than one match. I haven't played this game for a week, and all my boosters have run out. I refuse to buy more until aiming is fixed. Stop crapping on DS3 users, enough is enough.
And for the idiots saying, "but you have aim assist derps derpity da derp derp", it's not enough! Certain actions disable AA, leaving you in manual aiming mode. When that happens you are gimped with several weapons because the aiming is just not there.
COD and Battlefield have fanatstic aiming, take off AA on those games, and it's still very good to aim. Come back to DUST and you'll be angry, because you know when you get killed 99% of the time it's not your fault, it's the crappy aiming system in this game and CCP's constant blind eye to the subject.
CCP, stop for the love of all that is holy-ignoring aiming. It's the elephant in the room, it's right there, but patch after patch I see nothing done about it. I don't care about aim assist, I WANT better aiming! That's it, that's all I want to see done, can this not be done?
Please, please, please fix this. I can take getting shot at by multiple tanks, I can take facing multiple sqauds of full proto in Ambush, but what I can't handle anymore is this subpar- Dollar Store aiming mechanic(s). Please fix this, please? |

Exactly. When i see people comparing Dust with CoD and BF i think: "CoD and BF HAVE to be better than Dust, they are in the market, if my memory is correct, nearly for a decade or more . The biggest change CoD had was with CoD 4, and now they are farming the same formula every year. How could it fail? The gap between BF 2 to 3, in console, was huuge. And yet, BF 4 will have some little innovation (Like "Levolution").
But look at CCP.... What is the experience that they have with FPS? Dust is their first step into this genre, and they are tryig to make something REALLY DIFFERENT. They are trying to "renew" a genre that has become some kind of "cake recipe"."
Dust can die, like Mag before it, it can be the worst FPS of all time, but CCP have my deepest respect just to have tried something that other big clusterfck companies never even thought about.
