This is serious.The new players are getting slaughtered.CCP has to do something to stop this maddnes.Pub matches for MILITIA and STANDARD gear only.

Or they could bring the academy back with the 100k WP graduation requirement most of us agreed on with the option to participate in pub matches while still enrolled to gauge their skill level.

Added note: The standard Mass Driver I've been using lately with my Gallente Logistic suit (also standard) has been causing some extreme hurt for some reason. Not my fault that people are too slow in this game.

Added note, part 2: As a certain someone above me has said, prototype gear is not as powerful as people keep claiming. Proto suits allow more modules. Modules are power. More slots, more power. Suits are not power.

I have the ISK, so why would I want to run a lower-end suit? Also if I get killed, that means whoever killed me just got a serious raise on their end-of-game ISK payout.

I like to think of it of being generous and charitable, as I sometimes have to payout 650k for suit losses (only from 2-3 deaths) but the enemy team benefits from my lost suits with an increase in ISK payout. I am actually doing them a favor.

Plus proto suits really don't make a player better, it just gives them more options and flexibility. I have the ISK, therefore I want the flexibility at the risk of losing a boat-load of ISK at the end of the match.

When most proto users started the game we got smashed too. We had no academy at all and proto was cheaper to skill into. None of us gave out, we understood that in time we would get that gear too. COD instant gratification attitude in evidence.

I'll admit, I never went into League Play for BO2. So I couldn't tell you if I'd dominate there too. I've been playing FPS for over 20 years, been ranked #1 in the world for different titles(BO1, MW2, MW3, Halo 2).

I run a scout with like 140 shields an 80 armor an a week ago this dink named Faquira Bleuetta, goes full call proto an kills me from across the map with his stupid AR DUV like 3 times an I'm like meh what a dink right, like two bullets I'm dead, buddy didn't even have to try, open maps that sorta $hit happens so I'm like whatever.

THEN...... The match is over an I get this message re:kaboom , so I'm guessing I blew him up with my remotes a while back an he's got something to say now, only there's no message, an I know it's the dink from the last match so I reply : do I kno you?

Just to see what he's got to say.

So minutes later he replies:

Here just to humor ur dumb ass... let me list you some logical and also viable reasons for people such as the top players (including me) for running proto in pub matches... We'll dedicate this as these to the whiney ***** cod players =)

1. I am a logi... at stamdard suit levels my suit can only run 2 maybe 3 equiptment and only has one weapon... on top of this my amount of slots only allows me to have a max EHP of maybe 450 hitpoints... I will now be gutted even though i have 20M skillpoints...

2. I finally agree to stop proto stomping and make an advanced gear setup... it has 540 EHP compared to my usual 720 EHP... I go into a random ambush and find out that theres other proto stomping pub match players after i have been killed 3 or 4 times... I get pissed off and go back to proto stomping...

3. THIS ONE IS IMPORTANT... I play this game to be competitive... I also want to someday make it into a great corporation that is dominant and can hold space and other important things... but i wont proto stomp in pub matches because its "not nice" so my KDR goes from a possible 5.0 down to a 2.8... So now any corp looking at picking me up thinks im just a noob because i dont have the required 3.0 or 3.5... BUT I SAVED SOME TEARS FROM CRYING COD PLAYERS so its ok =) NOT....

4. For those of you who dont play PC you wouldnt know this... But especially for logi's, you need to be used to your pinwheel of equiptment... I know for myself I need atleast a week after changing my equiptment to become super fluent at getting my eqpt out efficiently... I also need to know exactly how long i can stay in a firefight before i need to run for cover or find alterative methods of fighting... If practive in ADV or STD gear i probably will not be efficient at either of these and therefor get dropped from my PC team...

5. I like getting hate mail from new kids as i sent hate mail out when i was being PROTO STOMPED in other builds... Those players did not stop which is what made me into a better player today... I thank them for pushing me and ultimately guiding me to become a "top"ish player in Dust 514 now =)

So anyways i just like having my high KDR so ill never stop Proto Pub Stomping because it helps that and i make money... So thanks for all the tears and maybe we'll get some noobs to stop crying and one day theyll make it onto our PC teams to help us fight against the whiney CoD ***** who cant take being stomped once or twice...

So you mean to say that, you are a world class player and yet you suck at Dust (Dust is easy mode). People who use proto gear sucks? they are scrubs because they have over 20 mil SP? They only play dust and have no FPS background? You own protobears?

Quite a lot of contradicting ideas. You do know that proto bears will still stomp over new players with equal fits. Simply because they have the SP invested properly.

My usual fit is less than 4k (am I the only one who rocks a 'Valor'?) - hell putting on an ADV scanner/Dampeners doubles the cost of the fit, but that's still less than 10k.

There is hardly anything to do in DUST - farming proto tears is why I log on everyday. With 1.4 my KDR is actually rising, but regardless - lets just say, if they showed an ISK Loss/Destroyed ratio as well I'd be a very happy Gallente.

Organized Squads of proto are the hardest, hard to kill one without another spotting and dropping you first, but even if I go 1/9 I still feel I 'won' - specially if we win and I still got top 6 anyway.
