So with Factional Warfare we can now see what we are actully doing by winning/ losing fights! GJ CCP Brings the integration that next step closer.
So now that we have laid the foundations what next?
Well things id like to see;
FW LP (Loyalty points), So for every win you receive the amount of loyalty points equal to your war points (Just an example!)
Then we need a shop ato spend all of these lovely LPs in!
So what can we seed the FW market with? OFFICER WEAPONS! OFFICER TANKS! OFFICER DROPSUITS! (I can dream.. aye?)
id also like a way to maybe save enough LP to buy the odd booster, maybe only have 1 and 3 day boosters on there for crazy LP but at the end of the day it would be nice if we can have people who cant afford AUR to be able to keep up.
Id also like to see some variants of AUR weapons on the LP store so we can try before we buy, but only if you have earned it! |

I can see an LP store with Faction items, slightly better than Proto (PG/CPU etc.) but not as good as Officer (damage).

Eh, I'm against Officer weapons being available for LP/Standings...
I'd much prefer aurum variants specific to faction. Spend LP/Standings and get a Prototype Assault Rifle that performs the same but requires Operation 3 with an awesome weapon skin. This would give incentive for new players and old players for different reasons. |

Pretty lame if those are it. The squad finder sounds interesting...if you're still in an NPC corp. |

What about a Faction variant of the weapon - something that is between the power of a Prototype and an Officer weapon? That way, Officer weapons keep their high meta level (rarity) and damage, and Faction is still something to grind for that you can't simply just buy with ISK, giving people some incentive and a selection of an end-game to grind and win (Faction Warfare).
If you make the Faction variants marginally better than the Prototype equivalent, it will make people still more conservative of them, but at least you have something different to see on the battlefield and kill (plus, remember guys, if you kill someone with a high meta level weapon such as this or an officer weapon, you score more ISK for your team [assuming the ISK gained in battle is a result of destroying people/vehicles/installations]), this will add a lot of fun and variety on the field, and would give people a reason to play after capping out their weekly SP or logging in to get the log-on SP that was added in 1.4. Aside from these reasons, I typically have no reason to play this game, since there is absolutely no incentive when you have enough ISK to buy whatever you need.
You implement this system, CCP, and I will throw my wallet at you (not individual bills), and you can expect to see me online every damn day (This or PVE would work wonderfully, and perhaps I might not buy any more games if Dust 514 fulfills all of my needs/expectations).
Just my 2 cents.

Quick Edit: I just thought after I made this post; Do you (CCP) have retroactive data on people's stats for Faction Warfare, such as WP, kills, wins/losses, etc.?
It would be awesome if we could grind now and see a result of our efforts when a system like this comes out in the future. |

Last I read, Fox Four was not in favor of Loyalty points, saying that this game shouldn't have to be a mirror of EVE which I completely agree with.
Loyalty points, meh. Just another currency.
I would say make it a little more interesting than a form of currency. For instance, there should be "Officer Maps" (to please the OP) from each faction that are not able to be played until you have played enough battles for said faction consecutively. The benefit of these maps is that grant much more rare/expensive salvage and bigger ISK payday at the end, as well as the chance to play a rare map!
Because Loyalty points are only good for a faction's stuff but if you are like me, and use a soup of gear, ISK is better.

Faction warfare at the moment = scrub warfare.
Just played 4 games in a row in the game mode (first time for quite a while) and I can honestly say, that is the worst bunch of blueberries and redberries I have seen in the game. We were the only full squad in all of the games.
Atm in terms of difficulty in game modes PC > ambush > domination > > skirmish > FW.
I thought CCP were positioning FW for being the middle of the road, in terms of risk and reward.
Seems to me it needs a big overhaul. More risk and more reward I think would solve the problem. Risk being the ability to drop a whole linked team into one side of the battle; plus friendly fire on. Reward an increase in payout only for winning though - losing is the same or less payout than an instant battle, an increase in officer salvage and salvage from the opposite team, similar to PC. |

Don't really need Loyalty Points as that is just one more currency to keep track of, but it would be cool if say at certain standings you earned access to special shops which you can use your regular ISK and AUR at. |

You are just regurgitating what CCP said about having multiple currencies; if this game is so dull as to only utilize isk and aurum, then I might as well pre-order Destiny, cause this game simply won't have the complexity in user choice (as far as action and methodology) that I thought it was capable of. |

Why not just have faction standings let you unlock access to buy officer gear for a premium price? Like 500k per light assault weapon would probably be a reasonable NPC price until the in game market gets set up. This way you don't get another currency added, but faction loyalty still matters. I want this game to be like eve because the things that eve has in it is what makes it unique (space ships not included). |

My fear slightly mirrors yours that FW isn't planned on being developed at all because they "don't want to tie us down", but at the same time if you don't have any investments into your actions, your fighting means nothing for the long term.
Merc Loyalist PC Player
Should all be their own separate play with their own meta game value. Mercs should have the ability to jump where the short term isk leads them, Loyalists should have the ability to get special treatment for their due diligence from their faction, and Planetary Conquest should be able to make/earn the most with the most to lose.
If the game doesn't reach this state then the long term skill system will not be fully maximized because of a lack of staying power in the game. The best thing Dust has going for it is what people expect it to turn into, that is Dust's pull right there.
If CCP has no plans on implementing standing in FW then it would be in their best interest to not tell us and see how long it would take for us to figure it out. |

Haha. People act like 3 forms of currency is the epitome of absurdity. I'm guessing the majority of players don't even use Aurum, and some of us have so much ISK the actual value is pointless, making the currency meaningless.
I want another currency to keep track of. I'm trying to think of all the badges and tokens you had in WoW and it was pretty easy to keep all of those straight (until you started getting into late WotLK and everything needed a new type of badge). |

But Loyalty Points actually add 4 new currencies, since 1 Amarr Loyalty Points is definitely not equal to 1 Minmatar Loyalty Point, for example.
Also what is so wrong with simply unlocking access to special markets depending on your standing with a faction, and using normal ISK and AUR there?

I like that idea quite a lot, the market sells very equivalent racial gear. Maybe a slight buff (very slight) over a normal weapon and sell it at the same price as the normal weapon. Think faction ammo in EVE. A certain standing level unlocks adv and proto gear. Also saves CCP Wolfman from trying to think up of a ton of new officer names for all the vehicles/weapons.
Originally I was thinking of just selling the same gear at a discount, but when player trading opens up it would be a market breaker. |

If you're happy with standings for a faction, then you only need one currency--Loyalty Points. If you don't have the standing with the faction, then the points are useless. You don't need 4 types of currency.
And the reason ISK and Aurum aren't a good idea is because more than half the people don't have Aurum, and a lot of us have so much ISK we don't even care about what stuff costs anymore.
FW gear shouldn't be something you run every match, be it PC, FW or Pubs, at least in my opinion. It should be something you save for maybe PC battles when you need that small edge, but don't want to use Officer gear because you know you might not get that back any time soon. If I can buy all of the FW gear with ISK, which everyone seems to want to be slightly better than Proto (or else what's the point, really), then every affluent New Eden merc will just run FW all the time and it'll be just that much harder on new players. |
