After 1.4 I changed to the KB/M exclusively, and it was as awesome as when playing Unreal Tournament 2004 (yea, i still play it sometimes.) Sure, there's SMALL problems like the grenade hotkey being in a silly place, or the radial menu...but aiming is beast. Even after getting used to the weird ADS, its still beast.
Every single game I've ever played in the past 16 years, even the original Doom, there has been one opinion that's been spoken in unison by anyone I've ever met : Using a Mouse over a joystick is by far superior control method to aim.
It's been common knowledge from any gamer I've met. Not once have i heard a contrary opinion. I assumed the reason being was anyone with marginal intelligence can see the physical differences in using a KB/M and a joystick.
A controlling method where ONE arm is making precise, fluid motions by simple twitches of your wrist. Opposed to a controlling method using TWO arms, TWO thumbs sitting on top of TWO sticks that you have to tilt in opposite directions just to achieve a poor semblance of precise aiming.
For god's sake, there's a reason it's FAR easier to draw a circle in the air with a Mouse then it is with a Joystick. No FPS game needed to notice that superiority.
Yet here comes the Dust 514 Community. "There's no difference in aiming between using a KB/M over a DS3" "Anything you can do with a mouse, you can do with a joystick" "Any Aim assist in an FPS is distasteful because it gives noobs an upper hand"
Seriously? How is it this is the only game where the community feels the KB/M IS NOT superior to a joystick? How is it tankers didn't notice their 50/0 score wasn't from their tank being unstoppable? How the hell can you feel the CalLogi suit was obviously superior to any other suit, and then try and complain that your suit got nerfed, yet at the same time concur with the Flaylock nerf? And whats worse is the constant spouting of lies to try and justify your "wanting" what you dislike removed.
It's all fuckin bold faced lies in this community to try and get what they want, and its slowly been ruining the game thus far . I just don't see it changing any time soon, esp after this aim assist fiasco.
TL;DR - Dust 514's problem stems from it's own community.
