Hey is there anybody who can tell me why there is equipment that is only available from some races? For instance only caldari + gallente seem to have vehicles and only amarr has heavy dropsuits.
Is this something temporary and eventually all the empires will have their own specific equipment or is it done on purpose and in the lore of the game these empires keep the secrets for their equipment or some empires don't have the resources to make vehicles IDK (That one doesn't seem very likely especially for vehicles) |

Thanks for the super quick reply.
I don't want to be harsh but what's up with game companies constantly releasing games and then getting them out of beta and saying that they are complete.
Sorry but this isn't a complete game. It's still bugged a lot, it doesn't have 3/4 of the features it was announced to have at release, it's missing content for different factions, etc. I mean, look at Planetside 2, EXACTLY the same thing is going on.
Don't get me wrong, it's a great game. But why can't companies wait anymore before releasing a game ready to go out in the market? I think this is hurting them more than helping. |

No problem. Hey you're saying what's been on some people's minds. CCP is a rather small development company compared to many others. They publish and develop their own games. And this is CCP's first step into the FPS gaming world.
The one bonus to remember is that this game will grow with feedback from the community. CCP is always checking the feedback even though you might not get a response. It takes alot to connect Dust 514 to an already ever constant world of EVE online. The grand scale is something. It's a pretty huge undertaking.
I think that's the real cool part, we as a community can help move this game into something never before realized. That's unique that this game is growing and has grown since the beta.
check out this video that shows what they have in mind |

Arrr, just have to live with it, considering they plan on expanding and working on the game over the next few years. Better than a lot of other companies that release a game for 60 bux, make you buy additional map packs etc for another 60 bux and then shell out for more DLC. All within the first week of release.
Ok pure hyperbole, but still... |

People seem to misunderstand the difference to a "off the shelf" "finished" product to one that is constantly evolving. PC MMO players are used to this type of development cycle, we know the game is never complete, even when we think all the holes/features/items are filled there is still more to come. |

Yeah I know the difference between a MMO and a conventional single player game that doesn't evolve over time.
But I think it doesn't mean that it should be fine to release a game or take a game out of beta stage when it still has important bugs and when it is missing a lot of its main most important features. (Which were, in my opinion, the connection with Eve Online.)
I think the biggest problem with that is that it doesn't give a good impression to most people playing the game and it hurts the game at release time. The game at release gets pretty bad reviews and then most people don't play it or stop playing it form the beginning not knowing it will improve or not interested in waiting for that. To most people, I think they just assume this is the final product because I think that's what most people are used to in the video game industry. |

Most players, you mean console players? Sure I get that, but its part of the education process for the way things are done in the PC world to translate to the console world. More and more games will use this model, sure there will be bugs and its testament to the game developer on how quick those are rectified.
People know I'm a CCP fan boi, so have the greatest respect for their hard work and short dev sprints to get the fixes in and also listen to the community. Very few other games devs can boast this too.

I'm not trying to say they're not a good company or anything or that people won't learn how the game world industry is changing. But, right now, I'm wondering if those choices and the way they are made isn't hurting them more than helping while people still aren't used to that kind of game development. |

This is how CCP work.
Same was true about EVE, and so it is with DUST.

They already featured early designs for the other racial stuff at the last fanfest. Find it on youtube.

CCP never once said the game was complete. Coming out of beta is not the same thing as being complete. The cool thing about Dust is that it will never be complete, always more to look forward to. Depending on your perspective, I suppose that could be a notsocool thing as well. |

Did I previously say that it was a complete game? (I don't even know if I did)
The thing about coming out of beta is that, I think you would expect that the game has the features that the company was announcing when they presented the game (I'm mostly talking about interaction with Eve Online) and I think you would expect all the factions to have their own basic equipment as they are supposed to and for basic features in the game to work as intended (such as the contact list, just mentioning one) |

Haha apologies but I was looking for a Amarr only Corporation and that's what I found. I don't actually know Eve online so well but I was having pretty good doubts on whether or not they were a republic lol. Ends up they're aren't only Amarr and they recruit other faction... oh well. I'm not a big fan of corp's name but the people in the corporation are nice and they have eve players :P
Believe me, there is much worse out there and I'm sure you're aware of it :P I would actually play kind of roleplay with a corp that fits the lore if I could. |

There's also the lore (as True Adamance is displaying) telling the history of an entire universe with several novels written ... and the EVR virtual reality simulation game CCP are developing for the Occulus Rift set incorporating 'New Eden', the Eve & DUST universe ... and the funding and promoting of real world projects like the Space Elevator ... and the Carbon game development framework CCP built to further develop DUST with Eve and EVR ... and whatever else comes along to bring more people into New Eden. |

I may be talking out of my ass but, from what I've experienced in Eve (I really haven't played eve online so much) and Dust, I really wish that there was actually a bigger involvement in the game with its lore and with the whole story of the game.
Idk I'm really looking for that MMO that is going to have a good and strong story IN the game with players participating actively to that story. |
