Started playing on the 2nd day of Open Beta.
Last time I played (4 weeks prior), had ~7.5 mill SP.
so, now, I have around 8 mill SP.
Compared to a certain someone who started around uprising and currently has 10 Mill SP |

Dude I feel left behind.
I started with player back in open beta.
I stopped playing on one toon/ capping out and I have 8m SP, they now have 19m
I have gone away for 3 weeks in vacation, I have a corpie with the same SP value, about 6.5 mill.... I will return with 8m he will have 10+ million. |

Didn't update mine for about two weeks into Open Beta. Having stopped capping out in the last several months is starting to add up. Thank God for Omega passive boosters lessening the slide.
Eight million skill points can be pretty decent depending how they are spent. I regularly squad with people who have less. Besides at least you can claim to have a real life. Many of us in the double digit millions have some explaining to do. |

I stopped playing during the open beta, got sick of crashing every game, came back to it and had 4.5mill SP now around 11million, dont always cap each week depends what time I have after work, still not full proto as I am building up all my passives plus have specced into a few dif guns so when the inevitable nerf hammer falls on something I have plenty to choice what to use:) |

That's where the "pay-to-win" concept really leaks through in DUST.
Boosters over the long term put people way out in front of non-boosters buyers.
What's worse is, that not playing everyday, and not even making a dent in the bonus SP will leave you in the dust(pun not intended)
42 days(6 weeks) is 1million passive SP
If you pay out for boosters (more than the hard title is worth) you'll have 500,000 more in 42 days. 500,000 is significant.
Now factor in boosters for getting bonus SP 6 weeks... and you jump ahead of the casual player to the point the casual player doesn't want to play anymore.
This is why I think over time DUST will lose players like they have been, because the gap gets so big, and nobody wants to keep buying AURUM to catch up.
What I've been seeing, is less players are playing the game, and AURUM builds are more frequent. Which is probably half of what CCP planned

Once you hit about 12 million, you have the same suit that the 21 million guy is wearing, its just that he also has ANOTHER Proto suit to throw to if he needs to.
Yes, boosters get you SP faster, but there is only so much SP you can apply to a suit at a time,
If you're currently "chasing SP" then you're looking at this game the wrong way. Hone your skills, your communication and your teamwork. The SP will come with time and practice. |

At some point, SP really doesnt make that much of a difference except for variability of fits. I have 19.5 mil SP (havent bought boosters in a while) and about 4m of that is unused. I have my one proto suit and a bunch of proto weapons to play with and I dont see the need to spend much more. |

Good thing it's not all about SP. After a certain point all more SP gets you is flexibility in your role. At 20.6 million SP I can run a full proto logi suit (next 1.6 million SP finish off my core passives) while choosing from 3 proto weapons and a few advanced as well. I can also use slightly above average tanks, LLAV's and dropships. I can do a lot of different things depending on how the battle happens to be going. The thing that hampers me most is the fitting limit and crap organization of them in general. Seriously how hard would it be to let us use folders to sort fittings in? I have more organizational options in my drone bay in EVE FFS. |
