CCP Logibro,
You recently referenced the following thread on your bug report:
https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1296671
I respectfully request some explanation for this. Why would a self-proclaimed logi bro consider nanohive and uplink spam via suit and equipment changes a broken game mechanic? It's my assessment that the equipment carry and deploy limits are clearly associated with each individual piece of equipment and not the equipment class. What sense does it make for previously deployed nanohives and uplinks to pop after a logi equips and deploys a completely different set of equipment? Why are you taking this poster's complaint seriously by considering it a bug? Logis want to logi, bro. Support the guys who play support roles by keeping this mechanic in the game. Removing this capability would ultimately hurt logis, Logibro. Please, Logibro...DON'T DO THIS!

I-Shayz-I wrote:The best solution is to make it so that when you drop a 4th nanohive, the first one disappears, no matter what kind of nanohive it is.
The reason for 4 nanohives max is because there is a limit of 3 nanohives for a prototype variant...so automatically it would destroy the 4th one laid down anyways. If you drop 2 nanohives in one suit, then switch to another suit with a nanohive that has a limit of 1 down at a time, there would still only be a total of 3 nanohives, since the current one would destroy the 3rd one you laid down when you drop the fourth one.
So basically there can only be 3 active by any one player at a time, and the oldest one gets destroyed, no matter what type of nanohive it is.
Same thing would apply to drop uplinks. _______________________
Now that I think about it, maybe the limit should be more like 4 or 5, since you might want to bring a couple hives or uplinks with you...but having a limit is better than letting players spam them.
Suggestions like that are the problem. I'm a support player and I like doing what support players do. Unlike assault-oriented players who have a playstyle geared towards making a more direct impact by removing opposing players from the field, logis make their mark on the game by supporting the aggregate efforts of assault players. Equipment deployment and triage allows us to have the assault equivalent of a 30-2 game and it allows assault players to be even more effective. Let us play how we want to play! You express your character skills by killing, logis do it through support. If we can't enjoy ourselves and express our style of play anymore, why should support-oriented players stick around? |
