This is for the guys actually having a proto version of each, and for those poor missguided souls that think the Logi suits are beast at the slayer role.
I finally got my assault proto suit a week ago and its hard to go back, at least in pub games. My KDR and wallet have been going up at a rapid rate these few days, and that hasn't happened since, well, can't really remember when...
Benefit for the Logi suit:
- Roughly 50 more HP. - Can fit a scanner - And another equipment slot, personally used for the "cheap to fit" proto uplinks. - Free armor repair.
Benefit for the Assault suit: - Sidearm - 2 complex damage mods - Speed - Stamina and its recovery - Its cheaper - Better nanohives (I can fit proto on it.)
These suit setups are of course subject for debate, I have more or less unconsiously made them fairly equal in terms of total hp and shield recovery and delay. For the Logi suit to work I feel I have to use a complex Energiser and a complex regulator. Both have 2 basic armor plates and the assault suit uses an Allotek rephive, which is with its 16 PG cost impossible to fit on the logi suit short of redusing EHP, or get rid of the other equipment. In a pinch, I can always toss down to and get 80 armor HP and 30+ shileds back per impulse.
TDLR:
- The assault suit is vastly superior for its intended role, all the Logi QQers don't have a clue.

You say 2 complex damage mods...do you mean that assault with 2 extenders has same HP as logi with 5 extenders? I don't understand this particular "benefit" of the assault suit.

I have 4 extenders on the logi suit and one energizer on the high slots, this way the two suits have roughly the same HP and recharge rate.
Fitting 2 damage mods on the Logi suit would either reduce it with 145 HP or 72 Hp, but then with the dissmal shield recharge rate of only 20 per second...
The benefit is simply having a roughly 18% higher DPS than the logi suit, still with roughly the same HP and recovery rate.
And the difference when facing a fatty with those 2 damage mods is huge.... |

What was the total amount of HP for both suits?
I use a Cal Logi, got around 950 hp, proto uplinks/nades/ar and a K2 nanohive
Surely you don't need 2 damage mods? people die fast enough lol |

Solo Pub Combat Logi:
3x Complex damage mods 2x Complex extenders
1x Complex plate 1x Enhaned plate 1x Complex armor rep 1x Militia CPU upgrade (PG is now my issue)
M1 grenade Gek-38 AR
A-45 Quantum Active Scanner 2x Compact Nanohive (can go 1x std / 1x comp... but i like emergency triage)
370 sh / 377 ar (only armor upgrades IV) / 6.41 sprint
Assault:
1x Complex damage mod 3x Extenders (cpu constraints render dmg mod unfeasible)
1x Enhanced Plate 2x Basic armor rep
Duvolle Toxin SMG
Compact Nanohive
570 sh / 265 ar / 7.08 sprint

With the armor changes, you're doing it wrong if you're not running balanced dual tanks and stacking damage in the remaining slots on a Caldari build. Current high-dps meta means that regulators are complete trash and you need the ability to survive alpha.
On the logi side, the respectable active tank (11.25/s on above build) mitigates your reduced shield recharge and helps you eeeeeeek through an engagement long enough that you can get to cover for your glacial recharge delay to pass. Constant scanning is your true advantage on the logi and lets you pick engagements and position correctly.
The lack of a scanner really hurts when solo as an assault. Other than that, it is fantastic and with a scanning logi in squad you gain the benefit of that logi's equipment. Don't get me wrong, above logi build is pubstomperific, but it is slower and has a bit less stamina. The duvolle grants the assault a very very slight range advantage, and of course having a sidearm increases killing power. The higher base EHP on the above assault build allows me to stay in combat the extra half second to achieve a nice coup-de-gras with sidearm, and it makes up for the beastmode active tank that the logi has. I find >700 EHP is a good 'magic number' that lets you walk away from a couple MD hits, forge splash damage, and stray grenades. Going 650 EHP or lower really lowers your survival during "enemy area denial operations" (i.e. cluster-fucks).
I love both. /shrug |

Interesting build Babar.
I've never used damage mods in PC battles, always prefer HP>DMG
I'll have to try that Assault build out, it has a good amount of HP even with the mods |

What assault suit are you using that can do this?
Minmitar? If so must be slow with armour?

... Min assault can't armor tank for **** as it almost always requires a CPU mod and the second low is going to be a basic or reactive plate without downgrading sidearm and/or main weapon |
